In response to the first answerer, who said darkness doesn't exist at all.

It doesn't exist in a psychically tangible way. But, it does exist conceptually. Even more than just a concept. If one cannot see at all because of the absence of any light, that darkness one would experience is real. Even though it is not tangible through touch or it is there due to an absence of something else, it still exists.
