There was an email chain going around not long ago called "Don't Break the Elastic" and it claimed that during an interview Maya Angelou said, "I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow."

I don't think anyone ever verified whether this was true or not.
