He has got nasty stuff, it seemed like the other team got really lucky. If he can throw that hard with that much movement he has a very bright future, what do you guys think

  1. as the fact that im not a cub fan but it seems like wenever i see theyre higlights deyre blowing a save

so  det vetter hope dat he can be like a joba

  2. I saw him play his speed was amazing throwing 95plus with wicked movement cutting back over the plate if he can figure out his control he could really dominate. I think Lou will use him a lot with speed like that. Funny thing is he was a wide receiver for Notre Dame

  3. This kid will be the Joba Chamberlain of the national league ... only better.  His fastball has unbelievable movement, but (more importantly) LATE and SUDDEN movement!  If he can get better control of that slider, spot that 95-99 fastball, and develop his endurance, he can be a great closer, or an even better starter.

The good part, he's young, and a former football player.  He's got a sick work ethic, thanks in part to Charlie Wiess and the boys at Notre Dame, which means that its very easy for him to develop his leg strenght and endurance.  Hopefully, we'll see this kid blow up in the weeks and years to come and do some serious serious damage to the NL.

  4. ME!!!! He looked good. Hope they give him a chance!

  5. He looks like he can really throw the ball. And he's only 23 and already starting to play in the MLB. It won't take long for him to get used to the majors, so he'll probably start pitching for the Cubs in the next year or two. It'll also be really fun to see baseball announcers try to pronounce his name.

  6. yeah he has a good heater about 96 or 97 with alot of movement and a good slider he was just nervous in his first start hes goin to be a good pitcher in the future

  7. Yeah, he has some nasty movement on his pitches and throws some serious smoke.  For now though all he can do is come out of the bullpen.  From what I understand he doesn't have many pitches.  You can't put a guy with 2 pitches in the starting rotation, but they can be successful out of the bullpen.  Until he does develop more pitches you'll only see him coming out of the pen (which is still great because that's where the Cubs need the most help).  He is going to be a special pitcher though, great pick by the Cubbies.

Oh and for future reference it's spelled Samardzjida, I know it's a very tough name to spell.

  8. The guy is gonna be a beast when he gets some experience. 98 mph 2 seamer with that movement and a pretty good slider is gonna be tough to hit.
