Who saw the Rangers/Yankees game???

Oh my goodness, what a game to be at!!! I enjoyed every second of it!

Back and forth went the lead and in the ninth inning, tied at five with the bases loaded and two outs...

MARLON BYRD GOES DEEP!!!

After the game, the fans (including me) were going CRAZY! We were high-fiving each other and yelling "Let's go, Rangers!" and doing the Byrd...

Wow, what a game! I think the Rangers have something special this year. No matter how much they're down by, I find myself thinking "Whatever. We'll rally and come back soon."

So, I was just wondering who saw that and what you thought about it and what you think about the Rangers this season.

Try to go beyond the standard "Offense is great but pitching sucks" answer that I usually get about the Rangers.

Tell me what you think of the team's chemistry and who you think has made the biggest difference this year...

Give me some detail!

  1. I was at the game last night, and WOW what a game. I was also at the game when hamilton hit the home run to win against the angels. I thought that was the best game I have ever been to, but last night topped that. I hate the yankees and was so glad to see this rangers team come together and pull off a win like that. Like the signs say at the ballpark.....In our park, it aint over till its over!!! The rangers sure do know how to rally. I was prepared to stay for extra innings because the yankees had some good pitching, but thank goodness we didnt have to cause it was HOT!! Finally we have a baseball team worth cheering for!! The thing is all of the guys can hit, like Josh was having an off nite, but the rest of the guys stepped up. Everyone on the roster is good, and it shows. And the pitching was actually great last night, kinda weird to see pudge over on the dark side, but all in all it was the best game I've ever seen. I have never seen a grand slam before, and to see one that beats the yankees at home.........PRICELESS

Also, these Rangers this year just seem to be having fun, and that is what baseball is all about.  When all of the players cheer at home plate like they just won the penant is awesome. I have good pics when they did it for Josh against the angels, and they did it last nite for marlon. They just have fun, and like all the players say, they never get discouraged, and no matter how many runs they are down, they always believe they can win. I do think they have a shot at the wild card, but no one can seem to catch or match the angels, not even everyone's precious yankees or red sox. Let me tell you, even if the rangers dont make the post season, I have had fun going to games and enjoying baseball again.

  2. I had seen the game and the see-saw game that it was. My stomach was also playing like a see-saw with emotions.

I have been a Yankee fan for a long long time, but last couple of seasons I started likeing the Rangers, and their underdog tone. However it is their pitching that makes one rip the hairs out of your head. We know they are loaded with offense, but I only wish they would reach into their pickets and spend on pitching and make them contenders. I mean year after year the pitching is AW-FUL. When is the organization goign to do something about it?  Sure, their offense is never out of a game, but takes a toll.  Many dont realize that Rangers are just 5 games behind WC, and this series, though with 50 games left is crucial to them. They gain or fall further behind.

Hamilton has a tremendous job and in my eyes is MVP. They look AWE-SOME  as a team, offensively anyway. sadly Padilla cant pitch every night to give them a shot. Hopefully their pitching wil comeon strongly and make for a wild finish.  Their offense, ranked first in the leagues, will put up runs, but game after game will they put up enough is the thing. Though they cant catch Angels, their 20-15 record in division is respectable enough and with 28 more home games, they could have a slight edge.

  3. **** the Ranger. Yanks will destroy em tomorrow. It must feel good to be 5 games over .500. I wish Yankee fans could feel that feeling. and yeah the Rangers have a fantsastic shot to win the diviosion, apparently the Angels aren't like 20 games ahead

  4. I saw the highlights, that's about it.  As a Pirates fan who is tired of seeing people suck in Pittsburgh then get moved and have success elsewhere, it was nice to see Damaso Marte give up the walk of GS.  And I got to see the Yankees lose.  A win-win for me!

  5. I think their chemistry is pretty good  but theyy really need to do sumthin about their bullpen because their pitching loses a lot of ball games...I know Josh Hamilton is great but I really think Ian Kinsler is gonna have to come up big for them to make a push for the playoffs...This guy is the catalyst, He is what gets their offense going. They have one of the easiest schedules coming down the stretch and if they can but a lot of runs on the board and keep winning, I believe they have a legitimate shot at the wild card and an outside shot at the division.

  6. Saw the game and loved it! There were times I thought that the heat was effecting the umpires ability to call the game, but all ended well. As far as the chemistry, the team itself seems to have come together nicely and those who don't play well with others (Sidney Ponson)  are dealt with. I noticed the Red Ranger Finger a couple of months back and how it appears it goes on the road with them as well, which I think answers your chemistry question. If you notice, they rub it on a players head whenever they make a great play of score a run.

  7. yes i saw that game, i dont want to talk about it

  8. As a LIFELONG (30+ years) Ranger fan no matter what happens the rest of the year (and YES I DO think that Texas has a very legitimate shot at the wild card spot) I have to say that this season and more specifically THIS GAME against the Yankees has to be the most enjoyable to watch of any in recent memory and that includes the years that WE won the AL West in the 90's.  The "loveable losers" are actually making the greatest game in the world fun again to watch (in spite of C.J. Wilson's best efforts to throw gas on the fire).  As for the team chemistry,..look no further than two incidents in of all places New York: first with the rain-delay game at Shea Stadium where they turned the field into the world's largest slip & slide (--see youtube for more info) and the Mets fans were even getting in on it with "let's go Rangers" and then second the Josh Hamilton awe-inspiring homerun derby performance with Kinsler, Young, and Bradley right by his side.

This is as close as you can get in today's sports society to the 1979 Pirates "We Are Family".  For those who say it was just one game--take notice the RANGER'S ARE COMING!!!!!

  9. Of course I saw it girl. I wish I had something to record that GS with. I could watch it over and over and not get tired. Aww..well glad you had fun. I was supposed to go but today was my dads birthday. I'll be back out Wens & Thurs though. :]

Our chemistry is amazing. You see how when theres been a walk off the team runs onto the field and  one of them picks up the guy (I remember Ian doing this awhile ago) who did it and starts screaming their heads off and hugging and what not.

It's like Marlon said in the interview after wards..its not about the mistakes theyve made its about how the other guys have been there to back them up and help them. Their the best! lol.

Biggest difference? I really don't think theres been one person...it's the whole team thats made the difference. We have a great offense..you've seen them. Hamilton's arm is a gun..remember him getting the guy out trying to stretch the double into a triple the other night? But if you really want me to say on person it's Hambone.

He's brought the organization a live and given more people in Dallas to

cheer for someone besides the Mavs or Cowboys.

Great things are happening to this team and the future is bright.

    TEXAS ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS: Did you see that sign in the park? It's not over til its over in our park? There have been 5 walks offs the past week or so. :] I think we showed that it's not over til its over.

  10. f**k  the rangers!! they ruined my night :/

  11. I did but didn't care for the outcome but I look forward to the next game & to Wiseguy0492, I seriiously doubt the Rangers win their divisin considering the Angels are ahead by 11 1/2 games with about 50 games to go but they still are only 5 game out for the wild card chase.

  12. I think the rangers have a chance in winning the division because they got a lot of good players like hamilton.  They never give up.

  13. The game was dictated more by the umpires than the teams on the field. It was hardly a great game.

The balk calls in the 4th and the call in the 5th were outright disgraceful, especially in the ways they were handled, and the umpire's strike zone was erratic all game, which cost both teams, especially the Yankees in the 9th inning, when the strike zone shifted with runners on base.

It is exciting to see a walk off home run. But to say it was a great game is not accurate. The Rangers have the worst pitching in the league, and let's be honest, there are almost no "true" Rangers fans. Nobody would have showed up had the Yankees not been there, and they only are Rangers "fans" because they hate the Yankees and want to see them lose.

And to the previous answer... are you joking? The Rangers are 12 games out of first to an Angels team that is far superior to them.

  14. where was the question?  Is this is blog, you should post a bulletin..   I enjoyed the game from my house..  it was great.
