  1. Even the nicest of people can lose their temper once in awhile, not that the picture proves anything.  It just shows her up close to the lineswoman.  I doubt that she was yelling at her or trying to intimidate her.  Everyone on the tour who has ever known Kim Clijsters has said that she is genuinely kind and one of the warmest people they've ever known.  I'd trust their testimony before I would jump to any conclusions based on that ambiguous snapshot.

  2. i find that very unlikely.. and for all we know clisjters for closer to her because the lines lady could not hear her, or clijster could not here the lines laday...

i still think clijsters was one of the nicest players on tour... the only fault agains't her is that she did promise or say she would attend a few tournaments on her calender, and maybe because it was not good for her she just bailed out.... she could have been a bit more loyal to fans on her way out....

  3. they said a picture paints a thousand words. i wonder what was the context of this picture and are there other pics that would consitently show her as mean to such volunteers like this? it's easy to judge people's character by just one "still picture" when it could mean a lot of things.

  4. What's the story behind the picture though? I haven't heard anything about it.

  5. Oooh Busted! LoL. That lady is probably thinking "grab a tic tac b*tch"

  6. so? that picture says absolutely nothing to me. and besides she's playing a match and we all know the frustrations of line calls and such. even the nicest people get angry people. and as said,we don't know what's behind that shot.....we don't know the degree of angle in which it was taken.....it's completely subjective.

she is a nice person.....and i base that opinion of her on how most if not all players have deemed her.....how the tournament organisers and court people and the press have described her and especially the fans that have met her. i've known kim to get aggravated by stupid questions(remember the questions about how she ate?) before and sit there and endure it and she nothing if not kind about trying to shift the questions back onto to her match.

  7. bad

  8. Kim was playing on clay. And she was just checking on the poor line umpire's eyes after she accidentally kicked dust into her eyes

  9. Too bad.

i might need to rethink my impression with Kim Clijsters. (sigh)

    I really thought she's nice.

  10. i don't know what she did.... maybe Kim just look to the old lady but she never talk anything to her... this picture cannot be proof that she mad to the old women... because it's only one picture and we not know what just happened on that time.... as usual, she's really kind and soft-hearted person...we know it..

  11. This picture is a year old...

I'm not so sure Clijsters was nice, probably polite to her fans, but nice?

I have a hard time with her because, I felt like she jipped her fan base by retiring so early so she could become a housewife and have children.  Tennis is just as much entertainment as it is for the players to compete.  Somewhere along the line, Agassi realized that tennis was a stage for entertaining the people that basically paid his paycheck.  I'm not sure that most of the players understand that concept, they are just as much 'entertainers' as they are 'players'.

The way she retired (skipping several events she promised to attend after she announced her retirement) left a sour taste in my mouth towards her, and I don't think I would get excited if she decided to come back to the sport (as did Davenport or Hingis) just for that very reason.

  12. aww

poor old lady she looks scared!!!

  13. Pictures and videos don't tell the full story.  Anyway, I think that people generally want to believe that she's nice...I have no idea why.

  14. I don't exactly know what's the story behind this but i think i know what you mean...

... anyways, I felt pity for the old lady ='(
