Who says europeans are more tolerant than Americans?

Question

I just got back from europe and my boyfriend and I were denied a one-bed room at a hotel in amsterdam because we were both guys. The receptionist simply refused to let us sleep in a room with one bed, and she was white not muslim. I never experienced this once in the US and I've traveled all over the country. And while in germany I changed my clothes behind my car door and the police nearly arrested me for public indecency. I do this all the time in the US without problems. And last year in Texas while my ex and I were backpacking Big Bend National Park we stripped naked in the famous hot spring with some old folks from Maryland and New Hamphsire. all naked, and we all got a kick out of it, but some tourists from canada and sweden wigged out and ran when they realized we were naked. I guess stereotypes of Americans as intollerant are as stupid as stereotypes against g**s, right?

Great point! You have to wonder how tolerant a continent can be with a history of major ethnic cleansings and war. Just goes to show you how propaganda can convince us of things.

I don't know why Americans think Europeans are so tolerant. I think they are more indifferent. Only four countries in Europe allow g*y marriage and several, including France not only ban g*y marriage but ban g*y adoptions! In italy, nudity is illegal. Much of Europe is still controlled by the Pope. Try getting condoms in Ireland! Only legalized there in 1996 yet still most shopkeepers wont' sell them.

**** yeah they are man! I hear you the most homophobic smart *** stuck up pricks I've ever met were 2 europeans. I mean I thought I'd met some bad people in my time but **** they blew them out of the water hands down. I ended up telling him and her to go to h**l and go back to germany and take their ****** up attitudes with them. And OMG don't even get me started about Canada. I've met 8 people that I liked in Canada yeah 8 as in I can count them on my hands and they were family! That's it and nevermind all the ******* rules and regulations. No barb on a fish hook while fishing because you might hurt the fish?? Why the **** am I fishing then?? That was the highlight of the trip for me hands down. O and the bitchy border guard. Hi can you take a picture with us? "GET BACK IN YOUR CAR RIGHT NOW!!!" Psycho *****.

I think if you were a part of a big g*y group in europe they would've tolerated you more. Americans seem to tolerate individual uniquness more than europeans. Eureopeans seem to relate better to groups identity. In general, or course!!!

You should have gotten a room with 2 kings size beds. Then pushed them together and left a note that said: "HAHAHA WE STILL DID IT!"
