I'm sure that our queen is very much in touch with society. she has to be because she is the ruler of this country. she has her government to keep her in touch. she has children and grandchildren who also keep her updated .Ive no doubt that the royal princes have a great role in modern society. and if we as a nation know their virtual every move then believe me the queen will know first hand. the queen will also read the daily tabloids. and the way the population are conducting them selves just because of her age and position. that doesn't mean she isn't in touch with her nation.her values will be of a person of her age.just like my gran and yours but that doesn't mean that her foot wont tap when a song she likes gets played also just because of her age and up bringing she will be well aware of life in general and the way we live our lives today but that doesn't mean that she has to agree with the way modern society lives just look at Charles he did end up getting his own way and was allowed to marry a divorcee

You know your Queen is a bit like everyone's grandmother.  When you are young sometimes you giggle about what she's says and she can be boring and you think she's old fashioned.  And, then you grow up a bit and realize how much she cares about you and how much she has given you.  Then the day comes when she is gone and for the rest of your life you will miss her.

Be good to your Queen......you are so lucky to have such a fine person as your sovereign.

The Queen's upbringing is very Edwardian in mores and outlook.But she does keep in touch with the way things are now,especially through her grandchildren.She has to keep in touch with modern society in order to do her job.And The Queen is very duty-oriented and  wants to do her best.
