  1. A.G. Steel of England scored the first century in the Ashes Series played between England and Australia.He scored 148 runs in the first innings of England in the 2nd test of Ashes series 1884 played at Lord's, London from 21stto 23rd July, 1984.

    It was the 5th match of Ashes series.  In the first 3 test of Ashews series in 1882-83, nobody has scored century fdrom either side.  In the 1st test of 1884 series also,no one has scored century.


  2. Charles Bannerman of Australia. He made 165.

    From England,the first to score a century was W.G.Grace with 152.
