Basically, the move seems based on the idea that, with McCain anybody could make a great VP and potential President. It's a great move, but, in my opinion, it's not gonna sell enough. Obama's move was too sound.

  1. It's briliant because those who are really calling the shots in the Republican n**i Party know that Mcain is not likely to live through his first term and therefore put an ideologue in the vp spot

  2. Nobody. That was the most retarded pick I've ever seen. If he wanted a woman, if he wanted a social conservative, if he wanted a 'maverick' there were umpteen better, more qualified people, and not from the corrupt cesspool called Alaska. Ted Stevens is McCain's arch enemy yet here we have a VP who was part of a 527 raising money for him and getting tons of pork sent her way by him.

  3. McCain chose Palin because she was a woman and he needed the woman's vote...especially those who didn't vote for Hillary.  He also needed someone who could beef up the base of his campaign and since Palin is a strict believer in Life, low taxes, and 99% of the other points of the McCain campaign she was a natural choice. She is also a dynamite campaigner and will get votes for McCain. Romney is far more experienced however he is dull and would not add excitement to the campaign which it needed badly.

  4. I think it is like they say on the FBI files. The obvious reason is usually the reason. It's not a who dunnit.

I think that McCain was leaning toward Lieberman or Romney so hard,  that and thought that he would get his way in the end, that he had his vetting crew looking a Jindel, and some other male governors and even a few women like the CEO of ebay and all, but he was really thinking of a dude.

When Obama didn't pick Hillary (which the Republicans feared, therefore thought he would)(you know how paranoid they are) they saw a chance to cash in.

Somebody threw all of the files of women on his desk and told him he had to pick a girl.

Palin was in the pile and nobody realized how thoroughly she was vetted, but assumed it was thorough.

They moved ahead because she had strong Republican and was religiously conservative, but MOST IMPORTANTLY to McCain she was not a national name, whereas the rest of the females were surely "pushy broads" that he was not thrilled about.

I think that clouded his judgment and he thought he was putting a "woman, who was a NRA Republican, and a conservative Christian" on the ticket.

As far as he was concerned, he wasn't going to die and she met the criteria that he needed.

Of course whether he or Palin knew about the "Republican in the oven" is not clear , even if he did, he might have overlooked the conflict with the Christian right view.

My guess is that either Palin didn't tell him or she didn't know. But Remember that McCain has no familiarity with the internet and may have thought it could be "kept quiet"

Remember only McCain and a close knit group are all that knew ahead of the announcement, and those few may just have NOT KNOWN much about her before the announcement.

Anyhow, I bet he will vet people NOW (if he ever gets the chance).

  5. What I want to know is why do people refer to his VP choice as brilliant?  I really want the answer to that one.

  6. I would not say hiring a plagiarist is a sound move. Biden has plenty of baggage and skeletons in the closet but you won't see any reporting on it.

  7. It is nothing to see, but what McCain saw in her in 15 mins is what every man on the planet would see in her. (SHE'S DAMM HOT)!!!

You want to get the USA into more debt than we already are in?

Don't vote for McCain then. (Bush will just leave him a to-do list on the refrigerator in the White House down the hall from his young hot VP which is a nice piece of EYE CANDY!!) also having her running errands just to watch her walk in and out of the Oval Office. LOL

He reminds me of meeting an attractive young women for the 1st time and wants to give her the world, but in his case he wants to give her the whole country.

She is just 1 heart beat away from running the U.S.A. WOW!!

  8. I think he believed he had to change up his campaign or he was going to lose...

it was a gamble that he felt he had to take...

Obama's got an ace showing... but McCain has a pair of queens... but he's down to only a few chips... so he's going all in...

    could doom him...

he's just hoping that women will come over because she's a woman and it will ignite the base enough to give him a shot...

  9. I suppose millions of voters get it. The ones who get it are able to look beyond the blinding news media's DNC in-the-tank biased reporting. The DNC nominee needed a strong VP, who would not outstage him, which is why he selected Biden and did not chose Hillary. The DNC nominee has few accomplishments, his community work failed the community and now is under investigations with indictments for Rezko, the public projects were never done properly and are now falling down. He lacks oversight, and based on his 'present' voting record, he has a huge problem with making decisions.

Tonight on the BBC channel news, the London TV reporters are saying that McCain's VP Palin matches Obama's qualifications, and she has stronger proven experience, if not better than the DNC Presidential nominee.  If the BBC News gets it and it is really obvious, why are Americans failing to see that McCain/Palin are better for the country?
