Depends on the kind of science students. I would say engineering students are the most valuable to our society. Lots of science students are just as useless as the arts students.

express their own values, opinons, and ideas but I do not see them

as having a significant impact on society. Most ordinary people don't pay a l**k's attention to experimental artists.  I think the artists are preaching to the choir so to speak.

well with amount of chances today.. i believe what ever field you are in the only thing is if you wish to... politians are in state to do the best for country but they never do it right??? so its on atitude to do it...

Personally, I'd go with art. The need to express ourselves goes way deeper than any sort of technology.

Students serve the society in their own rights. But do teachers serve the society as much as they should?

Now there is an Indian version of ratemyprofessors/ratemyteachers for the Indian college students where students can give marks to their college teachers on various criterion. The web site is called http://www.MyFaveTeacher.com/  The Invitation code for most colleges to register on to the site is: ap3hg2d98gkrm1

Around 350 colleges from 20 metro cities of India have been listed on to the website. The website has a limited number of reviews and ratings for Indian teachers by their students owing to the “Invite Only” approach that MyFaveTeacher.com has acquired. Only those registered with the website have the privilege to invite other students to give marks to teachers. The website was launched quite recently around June 2008.

arts and science both are just like  two sides  of coin. both are important for the society . if science gives the life than arts teaches way of living . without art man will become macine man [robott] man without any thinking .you have not heard famous story    four men after seeing the bones  of animal collected them and by joing them saw those bones belong to a loin . one put blood and flesh in it . the art student who was called foolish said run away before putting life in it

those three were very proud of their scientific knowledge did not listen .when loin got life he hunted all three but the man who has some commen sense saved himself .so i want to say both are essential for society whether it is art or science
