Who should I contact about sewage backing up onto the floor inside the walk in cooler at work?

I work in a small business and the sewage constantly backs up onto the floor in our back room and in our walk in cooler. The manager had someone out earlier this week and they put acid in it. It's still not fixed and they don't seem to care. I'm thinking it's got to be some kind of violation of some kind but not sure. We keep all of our meat and everything in this cooler. You can see sewage all over the floor in the cooler. We are in Tennessee. Would the health department be able to make them fix this once and for all. It happens quite often and it's pretty gross.

ya notify the health department but the boss will probably fig. its u and fire ya. i guess u have to let u'r concience guide u hereand it's a tough one but i do hope u call the health dep. ua might as well take some pic.s to back u'r story so that when u get fired for some other bs reason u can go to the labor board for help

i agree with kilowatt. also ANYONE WITH RESPITORY problems will have problems with these such as  asthma, bronchitis, emphisima and upper respitory problems this is a serious health problem and should be delt with quickly

Call the health department immediately and report this. The restaurant has an obligation to serve its customers healthy products and this is criminal. If this should cause someone to become sick you are some what responsible for your lack of reporting it to the authorities. They will force them to make the repairs and also should protect your identity. I hope this helps.

The Health Dept.  You can remain anonymous, ask them to act like it is just a routine unscheduled inspection and don't go directly to the walkin first.     Yes, most floor drains are tied into the same line as the toilets.  There are a lot of nasty bacterias in them.  It is one of the most serious violations possible in a food establishment.
