Who should I contact?

My husband was surprised to learn that he had a warrant out for him due to an unpayed traffic ticket. The problem is that he has never had a ticket. The police said that the person had the same name, which is extremely common, same address but different birth date. The police let him go after he ran his social security number. Who should we contact to get this taken care of?

  2. You could first call that agency and ask who the issuing officer was.  Advising the officer of the identity problem would be the easiest step.  Hopefully, he'd be willing to follow up on it and correct the error.

Otherwise, you can file a Motion to Reopen with the court (which may carry a fee - here it is $50.00).  This will give you a new court date where you can bring the allegation up to the judge.  He may then withdraw the charge.

    Good luck!

Well, the jurisdiction that ISSUED THE TICKET comes to mind.
