Question:

Who should I take with my first round pick in Fantasy Football?

I have the 7th overall pick in my fantasy football league, but I'm completely undecided on who to pick. Should I take a running back like Marshawn Lynch or Marion Barber? Or should I go with a receiver like Randy Moss? What if Tom Brady or Peyton Manning is available should I take one of them? What should I do?

  1. tom brady all the way

  2. If Manning is still on the bord get him. Barber and Lynch are 2nd round picks. If mannign isnt there get Addai

  3. Tom Brady because he is a great QB and a good QB and WR make the team on offense you cant go wrong with a good QB.

  4. Listen to me,

Take one of those quarterbacks if they are there.  Stellar point getters.

Marshawn lynch is injury prone, and marion Barber will be sharing the workload with Felix Jones.

IF the two QBs are gone, and MOss is there, you have to take him.

  5. the vikings suck so dont pick any of them.  I would pick tom brady & marion barber.

  6. Brady for sure if he falls that far.  In leagues made of people with FFL experience, he will fall to 7 or even 10.  So I would take him, he is as close to a sure thing as anyone in the league.

I would try to hold our for round 2 on Moss - he might go that far.

If you can't get Brady, I would go for Barber, or if he is gone, then Lynch.  Barber and Lynch both had great years last year, but Barber's situation got better (J. Jones going to Seattle) and Lynch's got a little worse (quarterback uncertainty).  Lynch is not much of an injury risk and he will probably have a great year but I think Barber's year will be even better.

  7. To answer thsi question, I'd need to know what kind of league you are doing. How are points calculated? Do you have 1 QB or 2? etc.

If you have a 1QB league and RBs score a LOT more than WRs, then I'd say go with a RB because there are a lot of solid QBs. If you have a 2 QB league I'd suggest getting Brady at 7 (if he's still available).

If WRs scoring is tilted in their favor, you might want to look at Randy Moss.

The answer really depends on your team. If you edit your repsonse to give more detail, i'll give you my opinion.

  8. Always go with Brady, Moss, or Tomlison.

  9. dunnnnnnnnnnnnno

  10. Go with Marion Barber as your 7th overall pick. Peyton Manning/Marshawn Lynch will be available in the 2nd round. If you go with Moss then draft Lynch with the 2nd round pick, then wait out Drew Brees in the mid 4th round.

  11. ohk, you should get  a quaterback i think u should get ben rotlisburger

yea i no it sounds stupid but they say he will have a grwat year.

  12. A couple of thoughts...

    1. Understand your scoring settings.  If you are in a Point per Reception League, or if the league is favorable for QBs, adust your draft accordingly.

    2.  Here are a few rankings of players to consider around #7, from footballguys.com:

    #5 J. Addai

    #6 M. Barber III

    #7 F. Gore

    #8 C. Portis

    #9 R. Moss

    #10 L. Johnson

    #11 T. Brady

    #12 W. McGahee

    #13 R. Wayne

If Brady is sitting there at #7, I would have a hard time passing on his potential.  It's not a reach at #7, and you can pull in a decent RB1 on your second pick, probably Marshawn Lynch, Ryan Grant or Maurice Jones-Drew.

If Brady is gone, I would probably take a risk on Gore or Larry Johnson.

Randy Moss is a TD producer, so you could buck conventional wisdom by taking a WR, and then again take a RB in the second round.

See what the draft gives you, get good value with each pick (from an Average Draft Position standpoint), and adjust as needed.
