I know that in certain special cases insurance will sometimes cover breast reduction surgery, like when it causes spinal and respiratory issues. Im certain that if i got checked out by a dr i could qualify. But which dr should i talk to? Primary care physician or gyno or another type of dr?

  1. Primary care physician.

  2. I had a reduction two months ago and our insurance didn't cover it.

They claimed it was "cosmetic" and that there was not enough information given.

So if you have gone to a chiropractor or anywhere, make sure all of those documents are sent. My plastic surgeon wrote the letter to my insurance and said that I had chiropractic care when actually I had never gone.. Also do not say that you are "self-conscious" because they consider that to be a cosmetic problem and will not cover it. Just check with your PS and make sure they have correct information to send.

  3. Talk to your family doctor and then a PS that is under your health insurance plan (see at least three PS's before deciding).
