Who should I vote for as President? I am undecided. I see good things and bad things with McCain and Obama, and I am very unsure of who to vote for. I am an Independent, not a fan of parties. Any suggestions? BTW I live in NY so Obama will win anyway.

  1. Vote for McCain unless you want more of the money you make to be stolen from you by the government and given to people who don't work and provide for themselves. Also vote McCain if you have enjoyed not being attacked by terrorists for the last 8 years.

  2. well its simple

democrats = socialism (look up its history and you'll see why us conservatives dread the thought)

Republicans = stronger america (oh but wait we dont hand out 1000$ to get the vote, aww we must be bad now, you cant get ur lcd tv =()

  3. What do you believe in?

Obama = change, ending war, hope for lower class Americans, personal rights, lower education costs, better education for school children, more jobs for Americans, better energy sources, women's equal pay, women's rights, help for domestic violence victims, more health care

McCain = Bush.. I mean.. war, more poverty, less jobs, a depression, higher costs of living, higher costs of education, less wildlife, worse education for children, no rights for raped women, no more polar bears, higher health care costs, more money for higher class Americans,

In a way it makes me think Robin Hood and Prince John "McCain". LOL

  4. http://ontheissues.org is excellent also

  5. is communist - then Obama

Like America a little bit - McCain

  6. Well, if you care about freedom, Vote for Bob Barr, but if you believein  increased government or that more war is the answer, vote for McBama.

  7. I live in a state that will go Republican, but I wouldn't take money (as bad as I need it) to vote with the crowd.  Vote for your own interest.  If you earn more than $200,000.00 a year, vote Republican.  If not, vote for Obama.

  8. CLINTON! no wait... RON PAUL!

  9. First thing to do is consider your own situation, are you a solder who just  can't wait to get to a war zone?  Are you some one trying to buy a house and raise a family, do you have to do allot of driving, to work, are you covered by health care, are you trying to send your kids to college, do you think that by feeding the horse will take care of the sparrows , providing your not one of the sparrows of course.  Each candidate offers very distinct directions in how government should be run - Rep. top down, Demo. bottom up - you Sir have to decide what is best for your situation.  Are you a big businessman who needs loop holes and tax exemptions or are you a worker struggling to make a living wage in a job that's about to be outsourced.  We have had eight years of Republican rule are you happy with they way things are or not.

  10. Vote with your beliefs and values.

I happen to typically vote along one party line, that closely relates to my own personal values and beliefs.

However, I wish that the Party system would be abolished.

Too oftern politicians once elected simply vote on issues based on party lines.  I want to find politicians who will vote as a true representation of the people who elected them.  I want a politician who will stand up to political pressure because they have a passion one way or another on the issue at hand.

I don't want to tell you which you should vote,  you know your issues and how you stand for them.  They may or may not fall with mine.

I can share that when I was younger, I voted along one party...as I have grown older and studied issues and learned the implications of my vote, I moved to the other party.  As I get older I find that I move further and further away from my party of youth.

I have a difficult time trusting one side of this campaign.

While I noticed that one of the 4 names has something of historical significance.  They actually stood up against corruption from a fellow member of their party...to the point that they resigned from their post and blew the whistle on their colleague because it was the right thing to do.

They risked political suicide going against a senior member of their own party and now find themselves on the ticket to be one of the top leaders of the world.

This one person has a history of integrity and of sticking to what they believe in.  I believe that I know where they stand on issues and that they wont simply live on party lines, but actually examine an issue and vote and influence legislation based on personal conviction.

So again,  I encourage you to examine your beliefs and how you want to act on those beliefs...then look at the candidates and determine who you believe more closely resembles your view point.

Best wishes to you and may the best leader be elected as our next President/Vice-President!!!

  11. You should decide for yourself. There are people that will tell you to vote for McCain, and there will be people who will tell you to vote for Obama. Don't listen to them. Look at the planks of both presidents, and if this candidate has more things that you like and agree with, vote for him. If you are still unsure, don't vote. It's as simple as that.

  12. Then pay special attention to the debates as I think that will decide it for many who are still not committed to either candidate.  Speeches can be misleading, but the debates will be interesting.  Also attend or watch as many town hall meetings as you can.  I am pro-choice. I was an Independent, then changed to  Democrat, and this time I am voting McCain after much consideration of promises and no record vs action and a record that shows bipartisanship, and the fact that Obama can talk the talk but I don't feel he can  walk the walk and I don't want another Carter. .I will be honest, I am voting on the Presidential candidates that are running as  neither VP would have been my first choice.  You can also check the voting record of each.

  13. This website will help you out if you want a list of issues for each president. It's updated as well.

  14. McCain/Palin

  15. My suggestion is you should wait until you see both candidates debating and make a decision based on your personal beliefs and which candidate you feel is the right person for the job.

Act like you're the owner of a company and both of these people have applied for the job at your company. Which one would you hire based on the "interview"?

I can't tell you who I'm voting for because right now I've only heard from the Obama side. The McCain side has yet to give me any valid issue material to consider. So at the moment, I'm leaning Obama.

I also suggest this website: http://www.votesmart.com/

  16. Obama-Change, stop the Iraq war, bring more jobs back to America.

McCain-Pretty much the same as the last 8 years, wants to continue the Iraq war forever.

  17. McCain was already low on my list, but since he picked a woman as V-P candidate who has no experience, and who has lied about her 5th child [it's really the child of her unmarried 16-year-old daughter], then I have no use for a party who will promote such a person.

Vote for Obama!   He has a plan.    His organization plan has worked beautifully so far, and it will work when he becomes President.
