Who should I write an analysis on? Obama/Hillary, Bhutto/Indira Gandhi, or another two political figures?

Or is there somebody else who might be very unique to write an analysis report on? Someone people don't usually write about?

It's for a History class covering from 1945 - the present, and I have to write an essay comparing and examining two different books or movies that would seem "appropriate in a historical context." Should I compare Bhutto's autobiography and a biography on Indira Gandhi (Prime Minister of India)? Would it be better to examine Obama's new book and his plans for his presidency, alongside what Hillary's plans had she been chosen for the ballot? Or compare Liang Heng's "Son of the Revolution" and "The Lives of Others"? Or should I do something completely different?

I even thought of using Graveyard of The Fireflies for my essay, as I feel that I'd be most comfortable writing about this movie, but I'm not sure that it'd be the best idea for this class. What do you think?

3 ANSWERS

  1. Bhutto's autobiography and a biography on Indira Gandhi

  2. Bhutto and Ghandi. It'd be neat to add the difficulties of being a woman in politics in countries that don't necessarily support women that much.

  3. Definitely Bhutto and Indira Gandhi. Much more compelling.
