Vince Young or Aaron Rodgers and why?

I currently have three QB's on my roster so i have to drop one of them. I think I should drop Aaron Rodgers because he has thrown fifty something passes in his whole career so far. On the other hand, Vince Young might have another terrible year. What do you guys think?

  1. You're solid with Romo, so more than likely the backup isn't playing unless he gets injured and the BYE week - I would look at who has a better matchup for the BYE and also pay attention to the training camp situation for Rogers.  Rogers has better weapons around him and see how he performs in camp - the spread offense they ran last year can make many quarterbacks prolific.  Young really only has Crumpler since the Titans acquired nothing for their passing game.  I'd say Rogers, but it depends entirely on how he performs in camp and the Favre situation.

  2. Both have tough match ups the week Romo will be in Cabo Wabo.

GB plays on the road at MIN

TEN plays on the raod at CHI

Neither are looking too promising. You may want to consider trying to package one of these guys with somebody else on your bench for Schaub who plays CIN at home that week and an upgrade for your bench. Both would probably be ranked higher than Schaub at this point so you could try and use that extra value to upgrade your bench all the while improving your bye week match up. Then shop trade offers for other QB just in case and if you can't get anything for him, drop and shop the waiver wire.

If you have to choose between the two, wait until after pre-season and see how they are playing. Rodgers has better weapons around him but Young can produce with his legs to get you points as well.

  3. i would say keep vince young. but he doesn't have anybody to throw to unless you count algee crumpler. he might get you a 100 yards rushing and a td but he may also get you three ints and a fumble. but with the favre issue in green bay some of the packer players loyalty may be divided between rogers and favre. but if i had my choice i would go with rogers. i watched the cowboys packers game last year and he came off the bench for favre and d**n near won the game.

  4. Rodgers: 35/59 (59.3) for 329 yards (5.6 per attempt) with 1 TD and 1 INT for his career. He plays in a balanced offense with a good running game and solid receiving corps,

Young: 422/739 (57.1) for 4745 yards (6.4) with 21 TD and 30 INT. Young plays in an offense that emphaizes the running game over a passing attack and has struggled at the NFL level.

Check their matchups for your starting QB's bye week but I think the better option will be Rodgers.

  5. Vince Young, Aaron Roger has Brett Farve to deal with

  6. rogers ....... young throws too many ints.

  7. well here is the first wrong thing don't drop either of them trade the one u don't want for somethig you ned, both are good qbs and can be traded for decent players, id keep aaron rodgers because he has had better traingin and hass some standards to stand up to then trade vince for a positino you do need

  8. All year I only have 1 QB until his bye then I drop someone and get a scrub QB that week. Rodgers and Young are not going to give you good Fantasy number so I would drop both of them. If your starting Qb is that bad and you need to play matchups every week then I guess you should have 2 QB's. I would keep Young if I had to chose but would be scared and not expect much every week I start him

  9. definitely keep aaron rodgers, just look at the players who surround him, who does young throw to? can you name one of his wr's? i didnt think so, rodgers has a ton of sleeper value . im not saying he'll throw 35 tds but i think he'll put up decent numbers, young throws more INTs than TDs

  10. Rodgers has a better set of WRs and a good RB to throw to

    Young doesn't at all

  11. It depends a little bit on who your starter is, when that person's bye week is, and how often you are going to need to play your backup.

If you have a stud like Brady or Manning you won't need your backup for anything other than the bye week - then I'd pick based on who has the better matchup that week. ... Actually, if you have one of those guys you might consider not even carrying a backup for most of the season and just making a move when they are on the bye week to pick a guy up based on a good matchup.

If you have a lower quality starter and you think your backup might play more I'd probably keep Rodgers. Young hasn't developed as a passer and he's not surrounded by much talent at wide receiver.

    Just my opinion.

  12. Rodgers is the unknown. Vince Young has no one to throw to and I think he was an overated QB coming into the NFL. I would say stick with Rodgers.
