I think that the job should be given to steven gerrard because since he became the liverpool captain he has become into argubly the best all round midfielder in the world, he is a great leader and should be given the job with Terry or Ferdinand or even both as assitant captains!

  1. I'm not just saying this because I'm a Chelsea fan John Terry is a great leader. He has been my role model for a long time. Maybe Ferdinand, I just don't see him wearing the captains armband.

  2. Terry is good.

  3. Either John Terry or Steven Gerrard

  4. me

  5. I think Gerrard would be a great captain but I'd prefer it to be Ferdinand for some reason :S

  6. Gerrard is the best english player today. And yes, he should be captain. He leads by example and has a strong character and experience.

  7. Terry or Gerrard.

  8. i agree it should be Gerrard

  9. 100% rio ferdinand

jonh terry is not good enough

and stevn gerrard can only LEAD scoucers

the future captain should be micha richards

  10. ferdinand

    terry

i think it'll be between them

  11. i agree steven gerrard and I'm an everton fan!!!! , terry and ferdinand good players but they seem weak minded , terry crying his eyes out per example and ferdinand isn't exactly squeaky clean in his private life or the dope testing thing ENGLAND CAPTAIN SHOULD BE A GOOD ROLE MODEL FOR KIDS ON AND OF THE PITCH  because most footballers today are a disgrace of the pitch , gerrard isn't hes a perfect professional on and of the pitch and the best leader

  12. Steven Gerrard should be England's next captain but i doubt it will happen. anyways he is a great leader and is the back bone for Liverpool honestly Rio should not be a candidate because he is not a back bone for United like Liverpool is with Gerrard or Chelsea with John Terry

Gerrard or Terry for Captaincy and who doesn't get it should be vice captain or maybe even co captains but that may not work out.

  13. GERRARD for an England team that lacks confidence. Gerrard has that fighting spirit and ability to snatch a win from the jaws of defeat. It must be Gerrard!

  14. John Terry is the only man for the job.

    Sunderland fan.

  15. John Terry cried, because he cares about his club and indeed his country. There is no shame in that whatsoever.

He is as good a choice as anyone.

    But;

The role of captain is an honour but so completely and utterly overrated.

If Gerrard and Ferdinand have leadership qualities, which they obviously do, these will come out whether they are wearing an elasticated bit of fabric round their bicep or not.

  16. I think it should be Rio Ferdinand. John Terry had his go and was part of a failed Euro qualifying set up. Fabio must no try somebody new and I think Rio is the best for the job, Stevie G would be my next choice but I think he needs to concentrate more on his performances in an England shirt.

  17. I think Gerrard would be a good choice, he can lead from the middle of the park, influencing the strikers too. I always think of what he did in Istanbul and how he lead that game, masterclass.

  18. Gerrard is c**p for England, why should he get the captains armband.

He is not the best all round midfielder in the country never mind the world.

  19. Cant go past Dean Ashton

  20. I agree with you.

    Steven Gerrard should be captain.
