I think your captain should be the one with the most level head. What I mean is you don't want a captain that screams, pouts, or throws a tantrum when they don't get their way. (Can you see them trying to talk to an official?)

You captain should also be someone that isn't judgmental. You don't want a person being captain who often talks behind other's backs and creates drama for the team. Pick someone who is friends with everyone and can represent you well.

I have honestly never heard of the tallest person being captain. That's a new one. :)

Normally you have a rotating captain in middle school, and once a certain player (or two players) developed the leadership it would become normal for that person to be the captain.

On lots of teams the setter would be a natural leader of offense and the captain.

I've heard that before, usually my team uses the setter.

but a lot of times, the captain changes each game - uhhh vote on it... i guess, to see who everyone thinks will be the best leader
