Person A takes a c**p in the toilet, flushes it down, but doesn't go down, waits for it to flow down so he can plunge it.

Person B, wanting to take a c**p, flushes the toilet, causing it to flood.

Who should clean this mess up?

  1. Person A.

Person A left his/her problem behind.  Person B walked into a bombshell.

Person A failed to forewarn Person B about the Bomb, in the case, the bomb really went off! so Person A is responsible.  Person B is innocent.

However, may be Person B can help out Person A if Person A would apologize and take responsibility of his/her action.  after all, Person A and Person B share the same bathroom. : ) It would be nice if person B would help out, but person B really should not HAVE TO.  Person B helps Person A just because Person B is nice.

***  this section below is added after asker giving additional info******

Person A somewhat ignited a bomb, then took off and hoped that the fire will be shut off on its own.  (hoping for the water level to go down)

i would like to know what was the time frame in between person A and Person B used the toilet!!

If it is a long time, say an hour, and the water didn't go down. then Person B walked in and flushed. then it is Person A's Fault.  because Person A failed to fix the problem in that hour!!

if it is a Short time, say 5 minutes, the water hasn't gone down, then person B walked in and flushed. it is Person A's Fault, too. because Person A should guard the toilet or try to fix it right away instead of letting the bomb sit around.

Person B might not be very smart / bright to decide to flush the toilet knowing that it is plugged up.  but at least that is his attempt to SOLVE the problem.  what did Person A do to solve the problem?  let the water go down on its own? that didn't happen, so, Person A is responsible.

i hope that the clean up is already done at your bathroom, by the way.

  2. Clean it up together. Person A should have gone ahead and plunged it... however, person B should have plunged it the moment they saw it rising OR turned off the immediate water flow on the toilet (which is really easy -- my dad showed me how to do it when I was like 12.)

    So you're both at fault.

    Clean together.

    Hurry Hurry! Eeeeeeeewwwww!

  3. Am I glad I'm not at your house tonight. Maybe this time person A should clean it up. They plugged the toilet. Next time it happens person B can clean up the mess.
