  1. To your question, "Who should consider studying abroad?" only those who are really dedicated and not those who has a casual interest. Studying overseas is a huge commmitment on your part and involves much time, preparation and funds.

If you decide to apply to a university overseas, you must be aware of everything that will come with it. You must take a language proficiency test, as the classes are not spoken in English in European countries. You will be on your own for 4-years without parents and friends, except for holidays and trips back home. Tuition and accommodation for international students is about $35,000/yr. This is not including food, airfare, books, nightlife, shopping etc. The Euro is worth almost double the American Dollar, so be prepared to spend a lot of money.

When applying you must obtain a passport and student visa. The EU and UK will not grant you a visa unless you show that you have the money to pay for your tuition and living. In the UK you even need to spend money to buy a TV license or you may not watch TV in your room.

An international degree is a great thing and you get a great experience of the various cultures and languages of the world. I do not want to be negative or discourage you, but if you are an impulse person then studying abroad is not for you.
