  1. I would take Jackson in this position, but it's a close call.

  2. Westbrook, the Eagles got better and are looking to make the playoffs this year.  The Rams are far away from being a playoff team and haven't improved a whole lot over the offseason.  Westbrook won't have as big of a year as last year, but he'll provide you with big numbers carrying the ball and catching the ball.  Downside is that he is always injured watch your roster every week to make sure he is playing, had him last year and over half the time it seemed like he was questionable.  Jackson coming off injuries and with a team that didn't address it's offensive line it could be ugly.

  3. S Jax

Its close but for one thing Jackson is younger and has way more upside. Westbrook is more consistent but if both play 100%, Jackson shoudl be better than Westbrook at every facet...receiving, running, both. The year before last Jackson had an amzing season, he had so many receptions. Plus Jackson returned stroingly last year and the Rams look like thyre gonna rebound strongly this season,

You cant gi wromng w/ Westbrook either but rember hes just as much of an injury risk as Jackson

  4. That is a hard question to answer.  Both are capable catching 70-90 balls.  Both are capable of rushing for 1200-1500 yards.  It's a toss up between the two.  Maybe Brian Westbrook because he'll get the ball (passing and rushing combined) more  in Philly.  Maybe Steven Jackson because he is likely to get more rushing attempts/yards therefore score more rushing touchdowns.  It's a tough call but either way you go, you will get a solid fantasy performer!!!

If you like fantasy football, then you might get a kick out of this too. It's a little different but it's simple and fun. At least try this. Just click on the link...

  5. tough question--if your league gives points for receptions then Westbrook would be the safer choice.  Are you the 3rd pick?  I think either pick will be good for you

  6. Hi Spencer,

If you look at their total fantasy point output from 2007 (based on the standard scoring system, which it looks like you're using), Westbrook put up 280 while Jackson only put up 159.  Sure, Jackson played fewer games, but even when you average up fantasy points per game Westbrook beats him: 18.7-13.3, respectively.  So statistically (in the world of fantasy football), Westbrook had a better season.  Jackson was the trendy pick last year and it bit many owners in the butt, which I think is part of the reason that some people are 'sticking to their story' and ranking him high again this year.

The only drawback with Westbrook is his durability, although he largely expelled that last year.  His surrounding cast will be essentially the same so there is no worries there.   Personally, even with the injury concerns, I think you have to go with Westbrook over Jackson, although its a close call.

I have Westbrook ranked 3rd on my website with Stephen Jackson at 9.  If you want to see my complete RB rankings you can click on the hyperlink in my source list.  On my site you can also create your own running back rankings using drag and drop, then generate a printable cheat sheet (with all of your rankings) to bring to your fantasy football draft.  It's free.

    Good Luck
