Who should i talk to to give my two weeks notice at best buy and when during the working day should i do it?

This is my first job and i have never quit a job before...i need to focus on school and frankly the job sucks...just need some help!

your department head or one of the store managers.

yeah just talk to the head manager the main person in charge. pretty much any time. just gage your bosses atitude that day if they look pissed about something dont do it. do it when they seem to be more relaxed.

if you live in fl. don't give no notice I'm 49 and  quit a few jobs and know people who have most of the time if you give a notice they will just let you go then and theres nothing you can do about it this state is all for the employer and the h**l with the employee its the worst state for employees in the u.s.

Put something in writing, keeping it positive, and give it to them at the end of your shift so you aren't dealing with "stuff" during the day, nothing elaborate, just:

Dear _________(Manager):

This is to serve as my two week notice that I will be unable to work for Best Buy as of ______________. I have enjoyed working here, but due to (conflict with school) (my obtaining another position closer to home) (my inheriting millions from an unknown recently deceased relative), I need to give my notice.

It is always better to have things in writing, then there is no misunderstanding and less hard feelings.  You don't want to burn bridges because you might want them as a reference for your next job.

If it makes you feel any better, I think everyone's first job was lousy!!  LOL.  It will get better!
