OR should Wall street or Business maintain power in this country. Should the NRA, Should it be religion. I find it ironic that people are so willing to give up power to some entity and then sit back and complain about government.

  1. It should be. The problem has been that the people have never had the authority to enforce their will. I believe that a new branch of government should be created that is selected by lottery rather than elections to represent the will of the people. This new branch would be charged with acting as internal investigators for the people and would be empowered to investigate all activities of government with the highest security clearance in the nation and to arrest detain and assign special prosecutors to try any government official that is seen to be violating their oath of office in regards to the constitution.

Only if the people hold the sword of Damocles over the heads of the corrupt government can this nation be saved.

  2. If the Constitution had been followed in one basic respect, which was set forth in the 10th Amendment — that any powers not specifically granted to the federal government nor specifically prohibited to the States, are reserved to the States and the People — we would have an entirely different situation in this country. Government would be much more closely regulated by the people, simply by the fact of being decentralized and closer to home. For the same reason, "special interests" would have had a much harder time hijackng government on a local level.

The conflict between human laziness and human initiative, between wanting a "universal momma" and exercising self-determination and liberty, is as old as history itself and the founders tried to put in place a system that would foster and give a space for independence and liberty to flourish.

Fortunately there is a growing movement to reinstate the true government of the United States, comprised of people with widely different points of view in other areas, but similar as to their view of the purpose and scope of government, and using the Constitution as the rulebook.
