  1. Do you want to live in a socialist country with no freedom? Not me. I am paying for my own. And for millions of lazy people too.

  2. When have you known the government to run anything efficiently ?

  3. Almost 25% of the population in the US works for the government.  That means they don't contribute to the economy of the US.  They take tax money out to pay their salaries.  Which also includes their health care.  Then you have the chronic 6% unemployeed that the tax payer also pays for.  Then you have the 35% of the population that has low paying jobs and gets medicaid and free lunches and free breakfasts.  All funded by the taxpayer.  Then you have the middle class who pays out the wazoo in taxes for very little benefit.  Then you have the upper class or wealthy that pay huge amounts of cash to the tax coffers of the government and receive little or no benefits.

So my answer would be pay for your own healthcare and leave me alone.  I'm already paying for more than I want.

It's called an incentive based society that is founded in capitalism.  Those that do well get more in life and most of the time that comes from a good work ethic and being personallly responsible for your lifestyle.

do you pay taxes?  Then you are already paying someone elses healthcare bill and if the government in all its glorty decides to provide national health care then you will in all likelihood have to pay more for healthcare than you do now.

  4. No!  If you're hungry, is a restaurant responsible for feeding you for free?  Health care is not a RIGHT, it's a priviledge.  Although I do believe the government should offer health care for those who are uninsurable - of course, they should pay for it.

  5. Decode this lyrics 'You raised me up"

    What do you think?

In creating our parents to go forth and multiply.

    Then messing us up?

  6. Neither health care nor education is listed in article 1 section 8 of the constitution. The constitution is designed to LIMIT GOVERNMENT. There should be no cabinet post for either of these. There is one for education. Both of these things should be dealt with at the local or state level. Every time you turn something over to the federal government not  listed in article 1 section 8 you're giving up some liberty and we're running short now. When are you going to understand that government can't and won't solve all your problems? It's EXACTLY like Reagan said. "Government isn't the solution to the problem government IS the problem." A large part of the reason the health care is so expensive in this country is because of meddling by the federal government. Whenever they pay for something they first have to confiscate the money from somebody, take what they believe is "their share" and then they give some back. Even if they are perfectly efficient with the money they add to the final cost. Please read article 1 section 8 (as well as the rest) of the constitution before you vote. Don't vote for people that promise to do things not listed in the constitution because in reality  you are giving up your liberty and they aren't going to deliver anyway. Our "education" system would be a glaring example.

  7. the government are the people, and the people are the government,.....as in,  a government "for", "by",  and, "of",  the people

  8. Considering that the government can not pay for anything in the U.S. anyway, it is the people. The private sector generates all capital here. That capital is then taxed and spent on government programs, defense, and even the taxes of the public employees. The government owns nothing here, nor has money of it's own.

  9. I know that this is difficult for many of you to grasp, but,

YOU pay the government for everything in your taxes, Why should you not benefit from what you are already paying?

  10. just where exactly do you think the government gets their money from?? earth to you...earth to you....the government gets their money from the people.  the people pay either way..

  11. In my opinion, there's little doubt as to who should pay...taxes are being collected in order to provide for health care, education and other needs of people, as well as for the incomes of the government employees...

So, we should rather say: it's the government, which disperses the money, therefore it is them, who is responsible for the money earned by tax - payers  to be properly used !

  12. Both , Gov. share part and the rest on ppl which fits and their salaries

  13. According to the ultimate genius, Ben Franklin, the government should pay for education. Personally, I think the government should also pay for healthcare.

  14. The government is the people.  Whenever the government pays, the money is coming from peoples taxes.

The model for government funded compulsory education is solid.  It results an a literate society, and insures that the poor and disadvantage are given opportunities that would be lost to them in a private-education world.

Government funded health care has certain advantages over the private sector.  It is more efficient, as medicine and insurance today are run as profit-making businesses, rather than health services.  The goal is to take in money, but not spend too much (as it would be for any good business) but the goal of health care is to maintain health.  The countries that have good national health care have healthier populations and lower overall costs.

No one questions that the goal of education is educating, rather than profit making.  For some reason we in the US can not come to a similar conclusion on health care.

  15. The government must answer to the people.  So ultimately it is the people's responsiblity to determine what the government does.

But that shoudl not be on the national level.  What is needed in Ohio, might not be what is needed in New Mexico, What is right for one, is not right for all.

It is NOT the FEDERAL government's responsiblity.  The constitution gives that power over to the states.  The state constitution delegates those powers.

I personally, am responsible for my well being, as well as the education of my children.  It is not their job to raise my children to how I see fit.

I should not be responsible for my neighbor's healthcare.  Ive seen how many packs a day he smokes...

I would support health insurance people could by into, (maybe sliding scale based on income) if they choose to do so, but to force people to pay for other's health care...is well.. unconstitutional.

Insurance industry is the problem.  The only way they make a profit, is by providing less care than the money they are taking in.  Insurance is also one of the major costs of pratice.  Doctors have to charge an arm and a leg to pay for their malpratice insurance.

Pharmisudical industries also add to the cost of insurance, by overcharging for their medicines.  Forcing the insurance companies to pay their outrageous prices.

Other countries have solved these problems, by putting up profit caps on companies in essential industries  (like oil, gas, medicine, etc.)

Americans would never go for it though, because they couldnt make their money on the stock market...

  16. The government can't afford to pay for health care.

  17. Education the people via taxes.

    Healthcare the people.

Some people need to be taken care of by the government?  NOPE

People need to be the ones to take care of each other.  Private organizations can do a far better job than the government ever can.

Case in point when the hurrican hit New Orleans.

Did Mayor Naggin have a plan to get the people out ahead of the storm?

Did the governor call up the National Guard that was avaible to help get people out?

According to FEMA guidelines each town was suppose to do with out the Federal Government for 48 hours and who got stuck with the blame?

Meanwhile a tornado that came through KS in the middle of the night without warning and flatten the town.  Before the sun was up people were in homes and the streets were cleared long before the governor did squat.

We have to take care of each other the government has shown us time and time again how they can't do anything right.

The only one group the government owes to take care of without question or limits are the vets PERIOD.

  18. well if we weren't taxed to death we could afford to educate and care for ourselves and have money left over to help our neighbors. Fed Government can't be trusted with our money. maybe do it all on a local government level.

    RRRR

  19. Where do you think the government gets their money? They get it from the people! So if the government pays it's just a cover up for you the people paying.

  20. The people are the Government when it come to paying for anything.

  21. The people should.  Period.
