  1. There is a rumor that Jerrod Washburn was claimed on waivers today (the team that claimed him was not specified)...that's always a possibility with Carpenter missing his next start. Other than that, what do you think are their weaknesses? It looks like Chris Perez will fill the closer role nicely.

  2. YES, another die hard Cards fan here!!!!! We have got to pull off something. We are just on the edge of being great this season, and I think that one or two nice deals could push us over the top. I was counting on a big deal before the deadline, but because Mozeliak failed us then, I hope he will get big now. I liked the Felipe Lopez pick up personally, although I would much rather have him in the middle infield and boot either Izturis or Kennedy out. I hate that we are using him in the outfield, when we already have three solid guys out there, and Mather who has turned out to be pretty nice. Perez has been a lot better late in our games, but we still need some bullpen help. Washburn would be a good pick up, and he would really round out our rotation with Carp (please get better soon), Wainwright (same to you), Lohse, and Washburn. That is a very pleasing four man rotation (which would be used come October :). I wouldn't at all mind another strong bat, but I don't see that happening. Ideally, Washburn and a nice lefty reliever would be the best choices for us. Hopefully we can get it done, GO CARDS!!!!!

  3. You guys need a pitcher.
