  1. I'm gunna take all the thumbs down and blame charities and civil rights movements.

    If people weren't trying to make China richer, or if all those poor people were still poor in India, and if all those people in Africa were still dying of starvation... then fewer nations would be developing, fewer people would have money, fewer people would need oil, and our prices would be rock bottom low.

    Lousy equality...

  2. We should be mad at ourselfs, for letting a handful of do gooders keep the Alaska oil fields and the FL gulf coast oil fields from being opened. Not only do we have enough there to supply this nation over 1000 yrs. We'ed only be paying about $1.00 a gallon.

  3. WALL STREET

    ===

    Initially the prices of oil started going up because of

    (1) increased summer demand

    (2) weak economy / weak dollar

    But most of recent oil price rise (from about $100 - $140) are all due to WALL STREET SPECULATORS (wall street greed).

    Good Luck...

  4. All of the above.

    The government is allowing speculators to bid on oil contracts with 10%. So someone can control $1,000,000 of oil profit for $100,000 or less.

    Oil Tycoons are doing nothing to stop it. OPEC could say they are going to allow more into the market the the price would drop over night. Just because they allow more does not mean we would use more. They wont do it because they are getting rich.

    Ourselves for allowing it to go this far. We started driveling big automobiles and building large homes. We don't really seem to care about green power in the US and that is a BIG problem.

  5. The Wall Street SPECULATORS!

  6. I would say a mix of the three.

    Ourselves, for going to the pumps like sheep every few days.

    Our government for waiting for ever to listen Jimmy Carter and raise fuel efficiency standards on vehicles.

    Oil tycoons, for bilking us in Billions of dollars in profit.
