Who still gets a long weekend??

I was just told yesterday that this coming weekend is no longer a long weekend. Who still gets this long weekend?

I personally think we should have kept this holiday and never had stupid family day (who here actually spent it with family??)

I would rather have my holiday in the summer than in the f****n cold in Feb. (Thanks Mr. McGuilty)

I'm told I can have it off, but I wont get paid. I think we should have been told well in advance that this isnt a long weekend anymore. Many companies are still having this day as a holiday. I dont think its fair...Now all my friends and family have it off and I dont.

Uhh...since when is the first weekend in August a holiday?

Which holiday are you referring to?  I don't think I have ever gotten off for the first week of August.

You must live in Great Britain.  We do not have a holiday here in the U.S.
