Who suggested the Iraq war surge?

Is it some high level advisor that we shouldn't even know about? If we aren't suppose to know then don't say.

  3. The first poster is correct, the General proposed it.  For my family it exacerbated a tragic situation and I was initially very upset about it, but after talking to people who were there I can see it was effective, much more than the media reported.  

    Having said so, its done now, it hopefully has precipitated a much faster time line for us to remove our troops from Iraq in a safe manner than protects our soldiers and the people of Iraq.  

    The time to make that time line is now, though it looks like we are not going to reach the "horizon" until after the election unless the Pubs get really desperate for support for their candidates.
