Who take on Shaq and Amare???

Last year the Suns had Shaq for two month and some of the time he was healing from injury. If he had training camp with the Suns and is fully recovered he will be a force. So in the West who can honestly take them on together heathy???

I mean you got the Lakers Gasol (sissy) and Bynum, Amare could destroy Gasol and Bynum maybe be able to score on Shaq but no way is the kid gonna be able to guard him. Then you got Yao and I think Scola maybe Artest, once agian Amare humiliates Scola and Yao could probably take Shaq but Shaq is more aggressive then Yao and could probably punish him down low with stuff. From the Hornets you got Chandler.........They can take him easily!!!

Who can honestly take them. Everyone like to talk c**p about them and how they are old and worthless but when it comes down to it and you really look at it NO one can take them. If you think someone can then back it up with something don't just say cuase they can!!!

  1. Let's look at this okay?

The question is,they lost to the Spurs in 5 games.

Your argument, like how Gasol loses to Shaq and Bynum loses to Amare,or vice versa. But you tend to forget that Kobe Bryant is better than whoever is their shooting guard by a wide margin.

Then you got Yao and Scola,Yao is one of the top 3 centers in the league today.5 years ago Shaq would've sent him back to kindergarten, but no more.

You claim that Suns clearly beats Rockets hands down.Yet you fail to input Tracy McGrady in the debate.

Then we have the Hornets, you only talked about Chandler. But shy'ed away from other positions, because you clearly know

that Chris Paul is the best point in the league and wins the point guard battle in a wide margin,Peja wins the SF battle and all.

All you're really talking about is Shaq and Amare.Just because the center or power forward dominate the opposing team's center and power forward doesn't mean you have the game won.If that's true the Magic would've own the league already.

Like I've said, the truth is that you're only talking about the center and power forward position, what about the other positions, what about defense?

You claim that they can dominate, but you didn't say anything about guarding. That's because it's clear that Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire plays absolutely NO defense.

And if their Amare and Shaq can take over the game, why is it that they only won 1 game in the playoffs?

Not to mention they have the most crappy shooting guard and small forward in their roster.

    EDIT:Don't worry about them.They'll do fine next year,a chance they'll win 60 games,and probably Finals.Who knows?It's up to S.T.A.T and Nash.

  2. Rasheed Wallace and Kwame Brown. Both are very good on defense

EDIT: oops, I forgot about the West part. Your wall text made me forget. Anyways on the West...possibly no one, but I believe the Clippers could take them. And what's wrong with Sheed and Kwame x.x?

  3. "Offense wins games, but defense wins championships." That is the reason why spurs was 4 time NBA champs within 7 years. Shaq and Amare are good, but by the start of the next season, Shaq will be 35, and we all know he struggles on the line all his career. He can't play more than 30 to 35 minutes in a game, I mean yea he can go up against Yao, and Chandler, but for how long, the entire game? Then you got Tim Duncan to worry about that gives u trouble down low, and that was the reason why the Suns brought Shaq in the first place, to guard Tim Duncan, but you saw what happened last year in the playoffs.

The biggest problem with Amare is his defense, there is no doubt that he is an offensive force, but he DOES NOT play defense. He couldn't guard Tim Duncan, He can't really guard Yao. He gets majority of his points from those pick and roll plays with Nash.

  4. Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis could give them compitition. Because Shaq is extremely one dimensional, and Amare is only slightly less so. Rashard can take his game outside, and Dwight can nail 15 footers. But if u go back in history, Ralph Sampson (before all his injuries) and Hakeem Olajuwon would have dominated Shaq and Amare, no problem

  5. Duncan and Horry are solid on defense and are beasts on offense they could take them

  6. Gasol,Bynum,and Odom!!

Lakers handle them easy last year ,You did watch the only game the Lakers played the suns with Shaq???Lakers won going away without Bynum.

Shaq is not the same player he was 3 or 4 years ago.

Suns are no-better than 5th seed in the west!

Plz don't compare a team that went out in the first round to a team that won the west...............!!Silly girl

  7. Sorry honey but Shaqs prime days are over. But I think Yao and TMac can handle them. Really the suns will never be the same since they traded Shawn Marion to get Shaq. And if that doesnt work then bring on KG and Ray Allen.

  8. dang... hecka long answers around here.. but anyways. Shaq isn't that bad. he still has his size and can use that to get around and amare is very athletic. They'll be a good combination but that doesn't mean that they're unstoppable. with some other pair of big men such as camby and kaman ... or if kevin love does well, then kevin love and al jefferson. some other pairs.. you'll never know how it will work out

  9. no team in the west can shut down those 2 players with their pf and center.  clippers with kama nad camby might be able to, but i dont see camby shutting down amare.

yao is the only one big enough ot guard shaq, but no way is scola or artest guarding amare.

bynum relies on his strength and hes not bullying shaq, so thats out of the question.  gasols not stopping amare.

chandler might do well against shaq, but west wont against amare.

amare is an extremely aggresive and talented offensive pf.  his quickness and strength makes him a great threat on the offensive end.

this doesnt mean the suns are the best in the west, because the west teams also have guards who are stellar.

the west just got stronger, teams have more experience, and the rockets just got really good on paper.

  10. dwight can destroy either one of them, but he's got no help if there's 2 of them.

  11. No one is giving the suns any love for the up coming season. That will just make it even more of a surprise when they start dominating!!!  Just look at the line up. The D will get better due to having new coaches. They will still be fast and score a lot. They are only getting better. I say they will finish in the top 3 for the West.

No one can stop Amare, and Shaq is looking like he did about 5 or 6 years ago.

  12. Shaq and Amare for Gasol and Bynum that might work

  13. You obviously don't realize that Shaq's production has decreased dramatically the past three years, even though he's been in the best shape of his career (8 percent body fat). Shaq is a power player, not a finesse player. He relies on his size and strength, not his skills. It's why he's in foul trouble often and it's why his production has dipped. He occupies space and slows teams down.

Amare, on the other hand, is explosive inside the paint and a great offensive player.

But Shaq's going to slow everything down and clog the paint. Phoenix is up-tempo and will probably slow everything down. That's not good. You shouldn't have to change your system for one guy.

On defense, Shaq can't hang with a Garnett, Bosh, Howard, or Duncan anymore. They're either too fast or too skilled.

On defense, Amare can't hang with anyone. Al Jefferson lit him up for forty this past year, and while I love Al, he shouldn't have got 40 since he had no teammates. Amare should've suffocated him and knew it was coming to Al every time.

I see lots of 100-80 losses for the Suns. Shaq's too slow to be a factor in the offense and if he gets the ball in the paint, he can't pass out, he can't dribble, and he's not skilled enough to just spin and dunk.

I don't think it's simple enough to say "who can take these two on?" You have to factor in every facet of basketball...offense, defense, conditioning, off-ball movement, work ethic. I like McDyess and Rasheed, Bosh and JO, Camby and Kaman (overrated, though. Camby doesn't even try on screens) and KG/Perkins. Also, Pau/Bynum isn't as terrible as people want to make it out to be, and if Oden plays up to his potential, him and Aldridge are going to be tough on the block. Dwight Howard alone is intimidating for either of them, and guys like Theo Ratliff, Desagna Diop, Erick Dampier, Dikembe Mutombo are all in the league simply because they play defense on these guys and give them trouble.

  14. You delusional bandwagonner only we lakers were able to experience the true superman. what your experiencing is an old cactus. and amare nothing more than a high flying show off. Last i checked this sissy beat the c**p out of that old man when they last met, bynum will manhandle shaq, center vs center btw(but like you know anything about sports) because if you did you would know the match ups and would know that pau will play power foward not center next year.

  15. Shaq is still effective when healthy but he is injury prone as has been since the 01-02 season, where he missed at least 15 games per season except for 2004-2005.  There will still be doubters about the Suns if Shaq once again is injured, and I am not surprised if he is out for 20 games this year again.

As for Amare, he could be the clear top big guy in the NBA if he plays more defense.  He already is the quickest PF/C by far and his offense is nothing short of great,
