Who the h**l is Pim Verbeek and why is he Socceroos coach??

Who the h**l is Pim Verbeek and why is he Socceroos coach?? Omar Trousierre had more Asian experience and would command the respect of the Socceroos. Why was Verbeek picked ahead of him?

From what I saw on the news the other day, Pim Verbeek has coached in Holland with PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord as well as being an assistant to Guus Hiddink when he took South Korea to the 2002 World Cup Semi Finals, he also coached South Korea after Hiddink.

The FFA feel that his Asian experience and success qualifies him. He was an assistant to Hiddink and has a good understanding of how we play and what worked well for us at the 06 WC. There are others more qualified however not too many are a) keen to relocate here and work from here with the team on a consistent basis and b) they are way out of our league in relation to the almighty dollar. He has managed at some good clubs including Sparta Rotterdam, Feyenoord Rotterdam, PSV Eindhoven , Netherlands Antilles,

Borussia , UAE (assistant coach) and South Korea. he as also worked under Advocaat who left us high and dry. His third place position in this years Asia Cup shows he has experience in Asia enough to get results. he doesn't pander to the big names and is keen to look at the future through players in the A league also. Is he the right man? Time will tell, but we shouldn't judge the man before he has even had a training session or match. Respect is earned not given and if he deserves it in the eyes of the players he'll get it.
