  1. He did have the talent and the pedigree.  So many things go into making a successful driver and great driver like his Grandfather.  The King had the win at all cost approach like many of the legends, was he as hungry as his Grandfather to WIN, can't say.  Adam had the talent, unfortunately he was taken early.

If you think heaven has a heck of a rock n roll band, imagine the races going on............

  2. No way! He would have looked like Steven Wallace trying to be Rusty!............Pathetic!

  3. Sad. We will never know.

  4. They say he drove alot like his grandfather but it was too easy to win races back in the 70's the only driver to challenge Richard was David Pearson

  5. Adam was on his way to be an upper midpack driver. And his driving talent was at a point he could have been a top driver with the right car.Yes  he would have been the same caliber as Richard.

  6. I always thought that Adam would of turned  around and got PE winning again.that team

It's a shame his life got cut short so soon.

  7. I think he would have been real good but saying he would have been as good as the king is a little hard to say. He would have made Petty Enterprises better

  8. I think he would have been a decent driver. Surely better than his dad, but i don't think anybody will ever be as good as "the king".

  9. Well he couldn't have been any worse than his dad

  10. no one knows the answer to that but the short career that he had looked quite promising but sadly that is one question that we will never have the answer to as he was tragically taken from us 8 years ago

RIP Adam you are loved and missed

  11. No way, Richard Petty was the best NASCAR driver of all time. Just because you are the grandson of the best racer ever, doesn't mean that your going to be the best. Look at Kyle Petty, he is the worst driver out there, and he is the son of Richard Petty

  12. Adam Petty was a bright star in NASCAR whose life was tragically cut short.  We may never know what kind of driver he would be but we can appreciate the kind of driver he was in the short time he was with us.  It is so sad when life is cut short just like Ricky Hendrick so young and talented.

  13. Sadly, we will never know.  He may have been great, but his time was cut short, and it was a great loss for all.  R.I.P.

    Go Jr.>>>>

  14. It's hard to say. Remember that the King may have 200 trophies from his career, they also raced up to 4 times a week back in the 50's and 60's.

He has 200 wins, but raced in 1184 races. That's only 16.89 % win ratio. For an average of  six wins per year.

Sounds like about what Kyle Busch is doing right now. Jimmie Johnson & Tony Stewart, and certainly Jeff Gordon have done in the past..

Heck, in 1964 Petty ran in 62 races that year. NOT 36 like now.

Oh, and BTW, we will never know how good Adam could have been.
