I am definately participating;

as somebody who is considered "the future" I'd like that future to be a little bit brighter. [no pun intended] For all of you people complaining about how you just "can't" do it, you most certainly CAN.

You don't have to neccassarily do it from 8-9pm tonight; you can do it for any hour of any day, because this is just to raise awareness.

Actually, it doesn't even have to be an hour. When you're done using a light, microwave, radio, toaster oven, etc. you just need to unplug them or them off, because they still use energy when plugged in.

Use www.blackle.com as your search engine, or just try and walk to work/school once a week, or a month, or take public transit every once and a while, and if not possible, you can still enjoy the luxury of an automobile by carpooling!

All of these simple things are so easy for us to do, so suck it up and stop making excuses.

We're not asking you to change your entire life, but changing it a VERY little bit could help improve somebody else's in the future a whole lot.

Just another ploy from the NWO to reduce our rights under the guise of "Saving the Earth".  Why the h**l haven't we heard anything about Global Warming all winter here in North America when we have had one of the coldest recent winters?

  I'd like you people to think about a few things..

1. The planet is estimated to be roughly 4.5 BILLION years old! Yes BILLION, and we have been keeping weather records for about 150 years, and that's a very liberal estimate.  Why does no one seem to care that there have been several ICE AGES that have come ond gone all BEFORE the invention of the combustion engine and the development of Fossil Fuels.  Does it seem sane to predict what will happen in the next 3 hours by studying the last 1/100,000th of a second?

2. Since we have been sending probes to the planet MARS the temperatures there have risen almost the same as earth.  hmmmm....Maybe it has something to do with our orbit and that GIGANTIC ball of FIRE that keeps us from turning into a giant float sphere of ice? NAhhh...Couldn't be.

3. There are THOUSANDS of scientists that disagree with the theory of manmade global warming, but their voices are quelled by the "religion of Environmentalism" saying that they are just on the payroll of the oil companies when there is no proof of that.

4. Why will Al Gore not debate ANYONE who disagrees with him and his theory?  He will only appear on media outlest that fully, 100% support his point of view.

5. We need to eliminate this evil carbon dioxide. Ummmmm, i'm not a botanist, but I seem to remember that trees and plants and the like NEED Carbon Dioxide to survive. Carbon dioxide is produced by all animals, plants, fungi and microorganisms during respiration and is used by plants during photosynthesis. This is to make sugars which may either be consumed again in respiration or used as the raw material for plant growth. It is, therefore, a major component of the carbon cycle. Carbon dioxide is generated as a byproduct of the combustion of fossil fuels or vegetable matter, among other chemical processes. Inorganic carbon dioxide is output by volcanoes and other geothermal processes such as hot springs.

I could go on all day. This is NUTS. IF the planet is going to go through a warm cycle we need to do what people have ALWAYS done, Adapt.  Otherwise we might as well start sacraficing virgins to the sun god to not make it so hot.  everyday I am mystified that HUMAN BEINGS think they can CHANGE the weather.

I fully support conservationism and reducing the c**p we put into the earth, but when you start telling me that we HAVE to give money to other countries to offset CARBON?  Insane.

  My daughter is waking up, but that's a start to keep you thinking.  I should start a campaign the says "Remember the Wooly mammoth and the Sabre tooth  Tiger, Global Warming caused their extinction!!!!"

There was an article published recently that I found very interesting.  Earth hour is supposed to raise public awareness by educating the public.  But the "More informed respondents both feel less personally responsible for global warming, and also show less concern for global warming," states the article, titled "Personal Efficacy, the Information Environment, and Attitudes toward Global Warming and Climate Change in the USA."

The diminished concern and sense of responsibility flies in the face of awareness campaigns about climate change, such as in the movies An Inconvenient Truth and Ice Age: The Meltdown and in the mainstream media's escalating emphasis on the trend.

The whole Global Warming issue is the biggest scam the modern world has ever witnessed, i have no doubt there is climate change but we humans have nothing to do with it!

Have a look in the sky at that big yellow thing called the Sun and compare us puny little humans to it and you will see that we are so insignificant to the earth's climate that absolutely nothing can be done from our end to change anything. What humans cannot accept is that at some point in Earth's future we will no longer be the dominant species or exist at all!!

The Earth's climate changes all the time and has done so for millions of years, it gets hotter and then cooler, how simple is that? Humans on the other hand who place far to much importance on our existence claim it's all our fault...Bollocks!

The Earth has hardly warmed at all since the post war economic boom of the 50's and 60's, stop being sheep and live your lives, Global Warming has become a religion for those who oppose our way of life and have nothing better to do anymore than compalin about the weather! Global Warming is big business worth billions of dollars and nobody is going to change that just like no one is going to change anything by switching off a god damm light!!!

It is Saturday night at 8 pm worldwide and YES you bet I am participating.

The whole point is for people to show one another that they care and believe we must all do something about global warming, about conserving energy and about poisoning and about leaving a filthy carbon footprint on our planet.  

THAT is really what it is all about.

You're either IN or you are OUT.  That simple really.

Pretend for a moment everything they are predicting is all true and your children will be left in that world and you can decide whether it's lights on or lights off.

And by the way, this little project that was supposed to be only in Toronto, Ontario has spread and taken off worldwide with a life of it's own.  I think that says a lot about who cares and who doesn't.
