  1. I don't think Ghost Hunters are Creepy at all..curious maybe.

Since so many say ghosts don't exist they are looking for proof that they do.. Proof that someone cant say well there was a string there...

Actually no I don't approve of Aniamal testing

Incase I gave you the wrong Idea I belive in Ghosts

  2. Yeah, and for that matter, why do people lose thier properties just because they die?

I mean, if someone owns a house, fully paid for and dies. That house should be left alone until the property taxes are late. Why do relatives always want to move in and take possession of these things. It shows total disrespect for thier disembodied relative.

And why does death anull a marriage? Did anyone see the movie "Ghost" with whoopie goldberg and that guy from "Dirty Dancing"? Come on, just because your spouse loses a body, doesnt mean they arent there!

You made an awsome point about Ghost Hunters intruding on the properties of ghosts. Afterall, ghosts are people too!

  3. You are right on. They are ghouls. Not that there are ghosts or anything but if there were shouldn't we let them be.

If I were dead and became a spirit stuck somewhere, I wouldn't want some guys in baseball hats sticking EMF meters and digital recorders in my face asking me a bunch of silly questions.

I would throw stuff at Evette and and slug Stewart from Most Haunted in the stomach though.

The only interesting Ghost hunters was when they caught the colors moving from Jay to that psychic with the infra red heat camera. That was sort of weird whether you believe in it or not.

When Jay and the psychic were sitting having a session, you could see a color rise up from Jay and move over to the guy and then he raised his hand and it disappeared.

  4. Ghost hunters are creepy in that they truly believe in magic and a parallel spiritual universe.  This sort of belief system doesn't compute in my brain.

  5. I agree that ghosts may be the spirits of people and that some hunters ARE creepy, but not all of us are. We try hard to disprove what could be happening, i.e. debunk things that could be just rattling pipes or animals, but are forced sometimes to say that things don't add up; in which case we have to say that something paranormal is happening. This doesn't all ways mean that things are haunted. It just means that it is unexplainable. As far as privacy, I personally believe that some spirits are held here for some unknown reasons and need hunters to help them be at rest, be it by a cleansing, a blessing, a solving of a crime, or just telling them that it is time for them to "go to the light".

  6. of course they are!

  7. I'm a ghosthunter, I'm not creepy, and I'm a member of PETA. I'm against animal testing, and I speak out for animal rights. I'm also vegan. So leave us hunters alone, we're all different, you know. And I'm pretty sure most of us do this out of curiosity, to know what's out there, to get a glimpse of something after life, for hope.

  8. I don't think they are creepy. I think they are trying to do the right thing for the people who are affected by the hauntings while trying to keep at least a somewhat skeptical outlook.

Regarding the privacy issues: It depends on if you believe that

haunting = ghost = dead human spirit

I don't belive that this is generally true.

There are certainly hauntings which are not caused by ghosts. Hoaxes come immediately to mind from a skeptical perspective.

From a supernatural perspective, you have the possibility of non-human entities and demons - in which case the safety of the victims is paramount.

You have the possibility of poltergeist activity - in which case it may be self-inflicted (but subconcious), and once again you must consider the safety of the haunted as your primary concern.

Finally even in the case of "ghosts", you still may not be dealing with a trapped human spirit. You may merely have a residual haunting - in which case the "ghost" has about as much resemblance to a human spirit as a photograph or video tape does to a real person. Here, the peace of mind of the residents takes priority over what amounts to an old broken record of reality.

Finally in the case of an actual human spirit, one must ask the question "why?". If the spirit is trapped or in torment and in need of assistance, then I think they are doing the right thing in investigating and trying to help. Since the spirit is causing haunting phenomena it is obviously trying to gain the attention of the living - not the sort of thing that someone who wants their privacy would do.

They (TAPS) say that there are things that they don't broadcast, and details they don't reveal for reasons of privacy. Presumably if they did run into an actual human spirit that didn't want its image broadcast on TV, they wouldn't.

    Edit:

Most of this still applies to ghost hunting in general - Your average ghost hunter doesn't have a weekly TV show - so isn't capable of using that medium to spoil anyone's privacy. But websites, publications and such still apply. As long as they approach the situation attempting to help, I think it's neither creepy, nor a violation of anyone's privacy.

  9. not really, if they want privacy, they can just stop for awhile, and the 'hunters' wont get any evidence. Obviously, they want to be stars too.

  10. I have been called creepy before. LOL
