I am not a Man utd fan.

It was the only premiership game I watched this weekend and I personally thought Man utd. were well below par.

  1. Woeful in the goal scoring department.

    Wonderful in the passing game.

    1st half...great game.

2nd half... not exactly what I had expected.

NEWCASTLE IS SOO IMPROVED... that guy Jonas was outstanding...even that Duff has improved soooo much.

  2. Well err they defended well.

I think some credit has to go to Newcastle here who defended excellently (for once) and who made it difficult for a Man Utd side who were missing key players.

It looks like Carrick, Giggs and Campbell are joining Hargreaves, Park, Ronaldo and Saha on the treatment table and Nani and Anderson are also out of the game...

Basically the side has no wingers now...

    Probable side vs. Portsmouth

    VAN DER SAR

    BROWN FERDINAND (c) VIDIC O'SHEA

    FLETCHER POSSEBON SCHOLES EVRA

    TÉVEZ ROONEY

    Subs

KUSZCZAK, G. NEVILLE, R. DA SILVA, F.DA SILVA, EVANS, GIBSON,  CLEVERLEY/GRAY

Assuming Welbeck, Silvestre and Foster are still injured.

So expect some big transfer movement this week!

  3. yea, they played below par to be honest. and credit to NUFC, they closed Rooney and the other attacking players quickly and that kind of disrupted Man Utd's game play. but Shay Given was d**n lucky Campbell's free header hit his head coz i think he never did saw it coming! well, football is a very funny game, you know.

but then, the season's only a match old. so, no worries over here for a Man Utd fan like myself. last season an Utd only managed to get 2 points out of their 1st three matches but still lift the premier league trophy. ;-)

  4. Not as poor as Pompey!

    (boohoo)

  5. they were rubbish. It's early days yet though.

I reckon Chelsea will win it, or outside bet, Arsenal.

  6. Man U were below par because Newcastle stopped them from playing their free flowing football.

They were expecting us to come and play 4-5-1 like everyone else and stick all men behind the ball.

That didn't happen so they shocked them and there was always a threat with the pace of Martins, Gutierrez and Milner.

Man U had injuries but so did Newcastle, no Owen, Viduka or Enrique.

The draw was a fair result, it could of gone either way and if either team had lost they would of felt hard done by.

Plus the fact that Newcastle are vastly underated this year and will surprise many with a top 6 finish. Kevin Keegan has the ability to make players believe. He told them to attack Man U, and it worked!

  7. Dont you think that its just the fact that man united are just average without ronaldo? Also that newcastle played well and had some new promising players in the squad?

  8. we were terrible today ! Totally lacking a target man, in my eyes on todays preformance fraizer campbell should not be in the team until he gets some weight training, he just kept getting pushed off the ball ! And then John O'shea, what in gods name is this guy doing on a football pitch? He just kept messing up at every chance and just lacks total control of a football. And Paul Scholes was considerably off par today just mistiming passes and dwelling on the ball, so unlike the player he is.The only decent preformers for us today was Giggs and he hardly played and Darren Fletcher the goalscorer. But today was there just waiting to happen, Ferguson has known most of the summer how short we would be at the start of the season but he blatently ignored it til around the start of August and is now struggling to latch a player which is incredibly frustrating and then some of his decisions today were loopy for instance bringing O'shea on instead of someone like Possebon who can actually pass a ball ! Just a horrible opening day of the season but dont think it's over yet becuase it aint and in the next 2 months we will show why we are champions :)

  9. in terms of possession, passing and creating chances, i think we did ok. but i thought we really lacked the cutting edge upfront to turn opportunities into goals. a new out and out striker pls!

  10. Below par - certainly. Poor - no, in truth they could have and should have won the  game. I am smugly pleased that they didn't though.

  11. ya, it was below par..especially scholes and giggs didnt play well...they cant when they play together...

  12. Not really. We attacked a lot and had loads of chances. All youngsters made their debut and i think it was a really good game and I enjoyed it.

  13. yes they were but it was the first league game.

  14. Well of course they were.....but look who they were missing, and consider that Rooney has been pretty sick.  It really should be no surprise they came out flat, nor should it be anything to get too excited about.  They started off very slow last year too.

  15. No Ronaldo and Tevez around to spark their midfield and firepower looks a bit dull on their attack, also newcastle defended very well, that's why.

  16. We had plenty of possession and created a few chances but failed to score off any of them.Credit must be given to Newcastle(Shay Given, especially) who defended very well.

  17. we played well considering all of our injures and tevez off due to family issues...the keeper even saved the ball with his head by accident for newcastle so....we were unlucky
