Poker is over rated for those who suck at it. :p lol...but I think it is under rated.  You never hear bout it anywhere, you can only watch it at the most ackward times and only on cable(rare occasion on without cable).  I just don't think people like sitting down and watching men and women "gamble" their money away...and thats the only reason

The game is very fun...intense because you have to keep on the real down low so no body knows what you have, and its a very fun game with friends. (Well fun until someone loses their money and goes on a shooting rampage to get it back)...HAHA, jp...

People can't realize the stars of poker are millionaires and win millions just for sitting at a table and throwing around cards (not to mention their skill with the chips [little tricks])...People just see it because of the gambling aspect, and don't give the credit to the skill needed and the composure of self-control for the "poker face".  :)

yes it is under rated

it's a great game, easy to pick up but challenging to actually master (and who doesn't like a challeneg?)

but if you dont actually bet then it really does suk

It's huge now compared to the old days of the odd home game so it's hard to say it's overrated but it's a lot of fun so it deserves the props.

Underrated? Where the heck is that coming from? Since the boom of internet poker, the game has gone from a shady, back room past time for unsavory people to a mainstream form of entertainment. The World Series of Poker has gone from a decent game for the hardcore gambles to a world-wide event with one of (if not the single highest) payout of any event in the sporting world. It's gone from ZERO tv coverage to having shows all over cable, with regular events and a nightly show on network television as well.

Poker is not underrated. It's right where it should be.
