  1. I haven't studied it but Fed has Sam Querrey in the 1st round and he is a really good player and could catch Federer cold. Nadal will have a qualifier. From what I have looked at they look fairly similar. Obviously Nadal will have to bear Novak again probably. Looks like a Federer Nadal final again though.

  2. I don't think Rafa has a super difficult draw.  Federer's quarter, though, seems like the lightest one.  He doesn't have a single major clay-courter in it.  He looks at a difficult match in the quarters though, with Davydenko, Safin, Coria, Robredo, Ferrero and Ferrer all in that quarter.  Half of the best French Open performers got bundled together in that one.

In the bottom half, it's interesting that Djokovic might play Moya in 1/8th, but than there's no one for the 1/4 for him.  Rafa on the other hand has an easier path to the quarter, but may end up fighting off Nalbandian, to get to the semis.

  3. Roger Federer sucks

  4. Federer has what looks like an easy draw. But Nadal doesn't exactly have a hard draw. It's only Novak that's a threat to him. And Federer's only real threat should come in the semis.

Now if you said Sharapova has an easy draw, then yes I totally agree. Both Williams sisters and Ivanovic are in the other half.

  5. no way i mean sam querry is a difficult 1st round opponent. rafa faces a qualifier.

  6. i dont think federers draw is all that simple.

Possible Mario Ancic in the 3rd Round

Juan Moncaco in the 4th round <-- he's really good on clay

or Ivo Karlovic in the 4th round

and then of coarse theres David Ferrer, Gasquet, Ferrero, Wawrinka and Davydenko that may pose a threat

For Rafa you can only see there being a problem with Almagro but other than that, easy path to Semis

  7. YOU KNOW WHAT? we kind of joke about this all the time ,my brother and I, we even notice that even if federer's side has strong players they lose and get out of his way!!!!!

funny that someone else thinks so too...

I haven't checked the roland garros draw yet  :)

I don't think it's meant to be like that..federer wins most of his matches easily which might make us think that his opponents aren't that strong... or may be he's just lucky.. king of tennis AND also lucky!!! wow!!!

  8. Wouldn't it be fairer (and easier) if the top seeded players went into the two sides according to odd and even placement numbers?

Nos.1,3,5,7,etc etc on one side of the draw and Nos.2,4,6,etc  on the other side. Why do Nos.2 and 3 always end up on the same side? It's not really fair.

  9. No draw is easy, especially on clay. Anything can happen. Though Federer has shown he has improved even more so on clay with last weeks performances, nearly sweeping his opponents off the surface until he got to the final against Nadal. I expect a couple of tight matches but should prevail. As for winning The French, I dont think so. Way too many clay court players out there, and this title will continue to elude him. Something he will always share with Sampras, though being better on clay than Pete.

  10. seriously! This draw is so one sided anyone that has had any success on clay is on Rafa's side, Fed pretty much has a walk in park. I know that a few people will try to say that Lubicic is a challenge to Fed. Oh please!!!! This guy has not made more than 3 games in a set against Fed in 4 years, on any surface. Fed has no one of any clay skills to challenge him on his side of the draw.  Just like his draws for the past 3 Wimbledon draws, they have all been weak ! I know I am in trouble now but it is true. Go back and check, never a challenge for Fed.

This draw seems very one sided.

  11. Sucks! Sam Querrey? Is it a joke?? Federer should have the hardest half! It's not fair!! F!

  12. i think its fair.. both players will meet clay court specialist in early rounds...

  13. umm does anyone else realize that federer is the #1 player in the world and the #1 seed. Thats the main reward for being the #1 seed, although I don't even really think they are uneven. Djokovic is the only real issue and they do it right with the seedings. 1&4 in the top half and 2&3 in the bottom half. Why should the #1 seed have the #3 in his half when the #2 seed's highest other seed would be the #4. Nadal may be getting closer but he still isnt #1 in the world. When/if he gets there...he will get the benefit of being the top seed. Until then..deal with being 2.

  14. too much easier draw

  15. Well it was obvious that since only the top 3 are good enough, the draw that #3 went into would be the harder draw. Unfortunately it's happened now for 5 years in a row.

  16. Yes Rafa has a harder draw for one reason... Novak. But thats only fair, look at every other sport, number 2 and number 3 always play in the same side, its just the reward for being number 1. I think its fair and I think itshould stay that way all the time. Honestly I'm not even being biast, in rugby it happens that way, its just the way it goes, best team gets the slighty easier semi (in tennis case number 4 happens to suck, but if number four was up there there would be no complaints). However I think Fed has a harder first quater, theres tons of names there that he will have to be on the ball for. Nadal will cruise through to the semis. Having said that, I don't think either draw is unfair, I'd be happy if Fed had either draw (minus Novak). You should have to beat really good players to get the final, thats the whole point of a grand slam (and who knows, there might be another Tsonga lurking).
