I am just wondering if anybody thinks that Street Sense is capable of winning the Triple Crown. I think he can because of the way he came back in the Derby.

  1. STREET SENSE is clearly the best of the three year olds today.

He is versatile, a closer and a pace setter.  CALVIN BOREL, a good guy deserving of a winning DERBY mount, said he was just galloping after he passed HARD SPUN....................I pray that he is healthy and sound during the next two races and the rest of his career.................the world loved FUNNY CIDE and his owners.....the world loved SMARTY JONES and his humble breeding and enormous heart....needless to say we all loved and fondly remember BARBARO......STREET SENSE willcarry our hearts all the way to NEW YORK and the BELMONT and on that SATURDAY afternoon the world will stop and be rooting as one.......bring the world together STREET SENSE !!!!

  2. Sorry, but I don't think Street Sense will win the Crown. :(

I know he did such an amazing run in the Derby but if we want a Triple Crown winner, we want the best horse there is. And in order for that, I mean, the Preakness in already next Saturday and in order for a horse to come back and do the same thing  he did in the biggest race in his life, that horse must be good enough to do so. But, if they are, then they will go onto the Belmont which always has a horse loose the Crown. Okay so think of it... if undefeated Smarty Jones lost in the Belmont I don't think that Street Sense will.

But this is all just my opinion.

  3. I believe he has a very good chance. Calvin Borell is just the jockey to do it. I am so upset with myself that I got caught up in the Curlin hipe and did not listen to my gut instinct at the K.D.

  4. winning the triple crown is an extremley difficult feat.  the short turn around between races along with the fresh horses being thrown at street sense makes this very difficult.  add in the luck factor and  it is probabley unlikley this lightly raced colt will hit the triple crown.

  5. I think he can win the Preakness!! But he is really good at speed!!! I don't know about the Belmont! At 1 1/2 miles! i think he can if he is willing to!!!!

  6. no chance... he will probably win 2 out of the 3 but not the Triple Crown

  7. I agree with the 2 out of 3 answer.  He's a great horse and could do it, but it is not likely he could win all 3.  But Borel is a great jockey, to say the least.

  8. If you look back and watch the derby in 1973-you'll see that Secretariat almost ran an identical race as Street Sense. What amazing horses these are!! Secretariat was also second - or even running second to last in the Derby (1973) check out video of this years derby( I wish they had that "sky-cam" in 1973)-both these horses move from last to first,by a number of lengths!!And they are still adding lengths as they finish-The Preakness is the shortest (I dont want to jinx-but blah, blah)The Belmont is the longest of the three and if Street Sense won the Derby and at the finish line could obviously have gone further -well - you get it -I  just wonder if any of you saw the special on Barbaro? What a wonderful horse-heart wrenching

  9. IF SS can win the Preakness, I'd give him great odds on taking the TC. But that said, he will have to change his running style somewhat to win at Pimlico. The race is shorter in distance and the track itself is configured much differently than he is used to. Pimlico favors front runners and not closers, so Hard Spun's trainer has said he is going to make SS earn a TC...LOL!

Belmont will be where SS can truly shine, with it's sweeping turns extra distance and long home stretch it suits SS's running style to a T.

I have said it before if anyone can get SS set up for Pimlico it's Carl Nafzger. His plan of only 2 prep races this year left him with a really fresh horse.

  10. I think he can too! He is talented and if he stays healthy and has good luck,he certainly can.Go "Street Sense"!!

  11. i think he is a good horse that is getting a lot of attention right now. so, ya i think he can.
