I sort of think it will stick around 4 per gallon by then and we will never see it any lower but i hope im wrong.

The standards are set now. I don't think they will ever go down below $1.25 a litre.

They will drop before then.

There has been a run up of prices of commodities since just after the bubble burst on Tech stocks.

Gas is up for several reasons. Wars make people nervous, and people see one soon with Iran (although the US wont start it). The value of the dollar has dropped significantly and that means higher gas prices.

Commodity prices will all drop within the next year, and oil will drop along with them.

Well considering the economy is going into a ressetion...no. Because you think that America would have learned their lesson from the Great Depression but so far the economy sucks. Jack in the box isn't using people for the drive throughs anymore. u give the orders to people in India:( weird but its true. haven't you noticed the gas prices?

Statistically impossible - they might lower but they will NEVER return to the good old times. The fundamental reason gas prices are increasing is due to 'supply & demand'.

There's not enough supply to meet demand - Countries like China & India are consuming more and more, and are willing to pay higher. Simple economics.  :-)
