For crying out loud, this is Brett Farve we are talking about here. He deserves special treatment.

(for those who can not detect sarcasm, I don't think he should be treated any differently than any other player)

  1. I think Brett is awesome. Huge fan... I think its fair he did. I mean I don't not if Brady ever does, because I never see it in yahoo though. Everyone should have to do something if they fumble.

  2. He's the one who talked to the coach beforehand and said he wanted to be treated like all the other players.

  3. wait a minute, they are making him go to practice, what the h**l, this is Brett Frickin Farve

  4. That was all staged to show that Brett Ferve is just one of the guys, not a spoiled, overpaid, malcontent, who deserted the team that made him a millionaire.

  5. Of course it's fair!

He probably doesn't think so though.

  6. The name on the front of the jersey is more important than the one on the back.

Great move for Mangini to set an example...as every coach should.

  7. I think Brett should be treated as any other player would be in the same situation. Special treatment for the new guy might just make other players resent him.

  8. That douche bag is lucky he is even playing football.  Not that I would like to see Rodgers injured, but it would be great if he got hurt and the Packer's backup QB had a career season.

  9. Everyone thinks it's fair...or at least they SHOULD think it's fair.

  10. lol your right, just because he is older than the coach doesn't mean he needs special pampers and get awarded for making mistakes.

  11. I'm a huge Favre fan, but thats the way they do things there and he needs to get the same treatment everyone does.

  12. He deserved it. After all, he's just a Jet

  13. He has to get in shape some how. With all his turnovers he should be in great shape by opening day.

  14. I agree. Throughout this whole process he's been given special treatment and I'm tired of it. It's time to treat him like the human that he is. However, being a Raven's fan, I say that he shouldn't run a penalty lap. Just keep doing what you're doing Brett Farve, fumbling the ball.

  15. with the way he will be fumbling this year he will be winded by the end of the season

  16. No way, he doesn't deserve any treatment. The only thing he deserves is to be treated like one of the players. If you s***w up, you take a lap.

  17. it was just a joke, and ploy for "fitting in".. which is why you see him smiling/laughing..

Brett Favre, at his age knows every trick in the Book for getting other players ready/together... and getting the fans to adore him. He's slicker than you'd guess, by believing his "country" act. He's a pro's pro. (and don't look for this to be News more than once, because he'll revert back -- having done this. and he'll be back to being the Star QB around the Jets, that we all know)

P.S. -- ONE THING for certain, the Patriots DBs will have more trouble than they're used to having, from a Jets QB that can throw more than 10 yards downfield, this season. They picked a BAD year to unload Samuel... these games will be an air show, even with the Jets mediocre WRs.

  18. You put the ball on the grass, you take a lap.

  19. I'm surprised the Jets didn't have a limo sent out take him around the field once.

  20. If people read the fricken post, then they will know its a team tradition to make ANY player who fumbles a ball run a lap.  That is why.

  21. Maybe Mangini saw the Cowboys game last season, and decided to instill in Favre that he better not play like that for the Jets

  22. Hey, I had to run "old lady" laps for being the oldest freshman in the marching band!

He should count his blessings he can still run...

  23. Of course it's fair and probably just what he needs . In Green Bay he was treated like a GOD and was immune from any kind of punishment . When Favre blew a f**t the coaches would run over to smell it . That all changed when the Packers hired Mike McCarthy as head coach and Favre had one of his best years because Mike wouldn't take any sh*t . I hope Favre does well with the Jets he is a great player .
