I think the best fight in boxing right now would be Floyed mayweather vs Kelly Pavlik. Although They are 2 weight classes and 13 pounds apart it would be possible. Oscar Delahoya once fought Bernard Hopkins and lost to him. Bernard Hopkins then lost to Jermain taylor. Then Jermain Taylor lost to kelly Pavlik. Also Floyed Mayweather beat Oscar Delahoya. I think it would be a good fight. The battle of the undefeateds. Who do you think would win? they could meet at 154. I would take Pavlik. what do you think?

  1. I don't see it as a dream fight, I'd much rather see Floyd face someone his own size by facing Miguel Cotto.  Kelly Pavlik is simply too big for Floyd.  He fights at 160, but he walks around much heavier than that and he will eventually move up to the super middleweight or even light heavyweight division.  Since that rules out the possibility of them fighting at 154, there is no way that Floyd is going to move up to 160 and face someone as dangerous as Kelly Pavlik.  Floyd is best as a welterweight and if he is going to face a big pucher like Pavlik, it should be Cotto

  2. No way Pavlik cant go down to 154 and be successful.  Thats 2 much weight.  Plus Floyd has to stay where hes at right now.  Hes in a stacked division.  I would really like to see him fight the most feared man in the division Antonio Margarito.  Nobody wants to fight him.  He had a bad outing against Paul Williams, but If he had 2 more rounds he would have knocked out Paul Williams.  When Antonio Margarito is at the top of his game I really believe hes unbeatable and I think he could beat floyd easily, but Floyd will never ever fight Tony.  Now if Manny Paquiao beats Marquez, that would be a mega fight for floyd.   Plus everybodys forgetting about Chris John who is also undefeated.  All the best matchups for floyd are out there but Floyd likes money and the best fighters are not marketable enough.  Kelly Pavliks next fight should be the winner between Calzage and Hopkins, Which I believe calzage is going to destoy hopkins and Calzage is undeafted also and he hasnt even been close to being beaten. Id like to see Pavlik fight Kessler, which would be a perfect match up they are almost identical fighters, kesslers only loss is to Calzage.  I could go on and on, but Pavlik still needs to have a couple of more big fights to be a proven champion.

  3. It would be exciting, but it ain't gonna happen.  Neither would take the risk of facing the other, and they are not about to compromise on weight.  Both have $$$ fights available within their weight classes, so there's no practical reason for their teams to consider this.  Dream on!

  4. I don't think it would be a Dream Fight as such, but it would be one of those fights that Floyd could use to further enhance his legacy. This is because Pavlik cannot make 154 - he can barely make 160, so it would have to happen at 160. That way, Floyd would be seen to be putting more on the line. If it is to be an exciting fight, that will be because of Pavlik, who I can see being the aggressor in this one observe...

Floyd would do enough to frustrate Pavlik and make him look like a lummox, but I doubt that his shots would hurt Pavlik. Pavlik is probably not the fastest boxer, or the best technician that Floyd has faced, but has tons of heart, and more to the point, is a natural Middleweight with a big whack. If Floyd catches some of Pavlik's shots flush, it would be interesting to see if Floyd can hang on. Flyd has a very good chin, but can he withstand full-on shots from a Middle?

I think Pavlik's heavier shots and punch output would be enough to win some rounds, but I think on the whole, Floyd will look to box, move in and out, throw combos like he did against Hatton (particularly in the 8th of that contest), and frustrate Pavlik with his speed. Floyd does not have enough power, I believe, to hurt Pavlik, but with the combos, and the 'hit without being hit' strategy should see him take plenty of the rounds. Floyd wins by UD, probably by about 3 rounds.
