Those who ask the question, am not being rude( if being rude to am really sorry) but i don't think i would be here without school. School is the root of your world and its the engine that brings difference in the world.

Considering this is the Home School section it might be safe to assume most of us think Public school is a waste of time. Problem is that you still have to go if your parents don't want to Home School.

The concept of education is not dumb. On the contrary, in my opinion the pursuit of knowledge and truth are the highest goals imaginable. What makes a school(s) dumb can be attributed to three factors--the teachers, the curriculum, and last but not least, the students.

And I feel bad for every kid that had to go through that and missed out because their parents don't want to subject them to the criticism and torment that are found in schools!

Dumb parents make dumb kids that grow up socially challenged - that is the essence of home school

I think school has been dumbed down a lot in recent years, thus dumbing down the students forced to attend, but I'm homeschooled so I certainly don't think my school is dumb.

Home school has been great for our kids. Their grades have improved, their lunches are not getting stolen, no teachers playing favorites or insulting students, and no bullying here.

When was the last time you heard about a home schooling student shooting up his home school? Only select public school kids do that. So who is socially inept? Who is more prone to start killing others?

But it seems that the only argument some people can put up for home schooling in socialization. Look what social skills did for any of the public school kids that shot up their own schools or the boy in South Carolina that was ready to blow his school up?

What part of all of that is socially correct? What part of bullying, harassment, and ostracizing is socially correct?

If social issues are the only thing that some public school kids can put up then they must suffer from lack of education.

Our education and curriculum here is wider ranged than in any public school. Ask a public school kid the following and see if they can answer them because our kids certainly can.

1. Where is the Marianas Trench located?

2. What was General George Crook's Starvation March?

3. Where is the Qattara Depression located at?

4. Who was Dr. Charles Drew?

5. Who is the inventor of penicillin?

6. Who was General Xenophon and what does his name mean?

7. Who lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue?

I have yet to meet one public school kid that can answer them all. I don't force home work on my children. But I don't baby them either. None of this time out go to the Principal's office or sit in the hall c**p. We do not honor PTA days, snow days, any c**p holidays, just Christmas and Thanksgiving. By doing this they actually get out of school in the third week of March.

well, i am definitely not a fan of school, but since school is a thing not a living being it can't be classified as dumb.
