  1. Most handicappers will tell you that in any particular race, there is a 20% chance of an outcome that is statistically impossible.

It would help if you defined "doped."  Race horces are on all sorts of things, including a lot you haven't read about with regards to Big Brown and Eight Belles.

  2. I feel that BB was quite possibly suffering from the dangerous effects of dehydration - you can read our discussion of this in my question "About Big Brown....." - about 7 questions down from here.

  3. He was hurt, thats why he couldnt run well.

I dont know about doping but i hate the "sport" of horse racing.

  4. Lack luster, yes.  Doped? No way was he doped in the past two races. Go back and watch all his career starts including his maiden race where he totally blew the field away. He's an great horse with a ton of talent. From the news articles out there, it looks like he was just too tired after the grueling first two legs of the Triple Crown to win the Belmont (aka "The Test of Champions"). It's happened before and I'm sure it will happen again. It takes a horse with that extra superstar talent to win the triple crown.

If you want some good footage, watch Secretariat win the Belmont in 1973 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9hn-6dsq... . Amazing footage. He broke the world record for the mile and a half. Totally breathtaking. That was an amazing horse.

  5. 3 things beat him.......

    1. before the race he was bucking in the receiving barn

2.he is a stud....he was trying to mount his pony horse

    while going to the track.

3.....all of the 11 triple crown winners, raced against

the same horses in all 3 races. now trainers put fresh

horses against the best horse, and that 1 1/2 mile

    journey is no joke.....

  6. Rewatch the race took me twice to catch it.. Big brown broke great and wanted to drift out -his normal sport- Kent pulled him to the rail and Big Brown was just so fast there was no slowing down and he clipped the 6 horse and pulled up hard. Then Kent let him go out side 3 wide, as he directed outside he bumped the number 7 horse. Not only is that extremely hard on a horse, this is 1mile and 1/2 which is very long.  On top of that, no winstrol -it is legal and most use it, it just isn't him- and the 3 races in 5 weeks really took a toll on him. Kent pulled him up extremely early as well, he probably would of got 5th.

  7. The only dope involved was his trainer. That guy put down all the previous trainers who attempted to win the triple crown, saying how they mishandled their horses, then he did the same thing.

    I am thrilled he lost.
