I honestly am starting to get very agitated when I watch the Chinese women gymnastics team play, especially against the US. I honestly believe that the majority of these Chinese athletes are not women but instead very young girls possibly in their early teens. I got very angry when I found out that Kexin He received the gold metal just because the judges thought that she was "closer to perfection" but at the same time Nastia Liukin received the same score

  1. I wish Nastia won.

  2. Well I felt the same way, but actually it wasn't because she was "closer to perfection" It was because of a preset method that would decide who won ties. Now first of all there wouldn't be a tie if the Australian judge rated Nastias performance correctly. Honestly, Nastia did have mistakes, but less than He Kexin, and they were more concealed, unlike He's. The system works like this. First they take the highest, and lowest scores (Nastias highest was the same as He's whos highest score came from the Australian judge) And they remove them, then it was still a tie, so they remove the next lowest, which made He Kexin the winner. Problems with this method, it removes the eveness of the judges. And also, the australian judge gave Nastia her lowest score, and Kexin her highest. Hope that clears it up.

  3. Here is how He Kexin of China and Olympic all-around champion Nastia Liukin finished with the same score on the uneven bars but different medals:

WHERE IT STARTS: Liukin and He each scored a 16.725. They had identical 7.7 start values (the measure of a routine’s difficulty) and 9.025 execution scores. The execution mark is based on the perfect 10.0 scale, and is arrived at by tossing out the highest and lowest of the six judges’ marks, and averaging the remaining four.

THE FIRST TIE-BREAK: The four deductions that counted are added together and averaged. He and Liukin were still tied.

THE SECOND TIE-BREAK: The three-lowest deductions are added together and averaged. He had .933 in deductions and Liukin had .966, meaning He had .033 less in deductions—and was declared the winner.

Besides, I am quite surprise that Nastia's A's mark is 7.7. Compare with China's player, her performance are lacking of flying movement.

Anyway, don't worry, Shawn must beat China team at Parallel bar.

  4. Um Hi.

the austrailian judge messed up the score for the chinese girl

So nastia should have won the gold, because she had less deductions

    and who ever said that

nastias routine wasnt as difficult is dumb

because it isnt decided on the "high  flying skills" there are other skills too called pioroettes which are the in normal speak the skills where she spins on top of the bar.

AND shawn johnson does not compete on parrell bars, only guys do.

its called beam (: and i really hope shawn and nastia kick peoples butts tomorrow.

  5. I think Nastia or Yang Yilin deserved the gold medal but Yang was underscored and Nastia was screwed by the Australian judges score.

  6. me too. hate them right now. to me they are scum. i reli feel that they are 10 or 11 maybe younger.

  7. Based on the way they judge it, Kezin He won. However, the tiebreaker system is strange, and I don't know who would have won if it had made sense. Not that I am ubjecting. I think all of the medel people deserved it.

  8. I think that Yang was definitely underscored. I actually think that by using the 'B' score is a pretty good indication of how perfect their performance on.

In other news, I didn't think that Nastia had such a high start value. That surprised me.
