Who thinks that Martin Truex Jr will Go to Hendrick Motorsports?

I think that the talent that Rick is looking for is what Martin Truex Jr can give and that he will be able to produce wins and maybe a championship. He is also very good friends with Dale Jr !!!

Yeah all those things are true but Martin Truex is a very good driver and will have his pick of places to go.  I don't know but I think he really likes it at DEI.  He is the cream of the crop there and gets to work side by side with Mark Martin which has to be a very positive influence.

No it looks a deal is in place for Mark Martin to drive the 5 car in 2009. The question is will Mark Martin drive the full schedule or will he drive part time and share the ride with Brad Keselowski and/or Landon Cassill.

He's not leaving DEI. He's talented but why go from top dog to 4th in line at Hendrick? It would be a bad move on his part.

That's like being the CEO of Starbucks and then going and becoming a supervisor at your local dunkin donuts.

The Hendrick stable is aware that a limit on the number of teams is looming on the horizon. If NASCAR says the limit is four (and by all accounts that seems to be the number) then the only weak link I see for Truex to fill is Casey Mears. Assuming Mears is in the 5 car next year, that ain't much of a trade for Rick Hendrick.

While I won't rule out Truex as a Hendrick driver in the future, I think a more probable bet for the near future is one of the two or three team stables like Yates or the Wood Brothers will add a car and need some experienced talent.

Mark Martin's going to Hendrick. Truex stays with DEI. That decision has already been made. But I can guarentee you Truex wishes he could leave DEI. Look at Teresa. Her c**p equipment got Jr. to leave, and now that he's having success the rest of the DEI team want to leave as well. Mark Martin is already leaving guarenteed. It's only a matter of time before Truex decides to go to a place like Gibbs. Truex in a Toyota? YUCK!

I think if MTJ doesn't score a win within the next few weeks  or make the chase he's leaving DEI.   Truex has to agree to the option that DEI has picked up before the deal is complete.  If you read any interviews he has given lately has said they are working on it but want to be more competitive.

Chevorlet told DEI that if they did not have a marquee driver signed for 2009, they would of pulled all direct manufacturing support from DEI. So DEI is doing all they can to hold on to Truex Jr. Besides, Mark Martin is slated to be in the 5 car next year.
