I drive and am sensible when on the road and follow the rules..e.g Speed limit and courtesy to other road users.

I have noticed other drivers who think that they own the road, and are proffesionals in total control of the car..(Tailgating,lack of indicating etc)

It is annoying and dangerous.A lot of drivers are an accident waiting to happen. Not just to themselves but others as well.

America are piloting the scheme with insurers. So when an accident does happen, the evidence is there to settle any disputes and who was at fault,if any.

Who thinks this would be a good idea over here.

The camera could be linked to a Black box fitted in the car...Like a plane has to record flight data.

The camera would switch on as soon as the car is started, and would start recording the data..e.g Speed, indicator use, distance between cars.

It would have to be looked at in depth,so it would be foolproof and couldnt be tampered with in any way.

If anyone else has any ideas or faults to add, feel free.

  1. Its a great idea. The problem at the moment is that when an accident does accure, you really need the police and insurance company with you just as the acccident happens. Obviously that is impossible, but the camera would be a good idea.

I also think that the camera would have to run 24/7, as currently im having some dickhead say i hit his car and drove off. I wasnt in the area at the time, but if i had a recording of the car at the time of the accident i could prove it wasnt me very easly. Obviously, the driver would need to copy the recordings to allow room for the next day. And the prboblem with this country is the no win no fee, culture, giving claiments to claim uo to 3 years after the accident. This means you would have to keep 3 years of recording just to be safe.
