most of the yogurt pots are still not recyclable in the UK and the supermakets still use too much packaging on products than they should, ok so they want to make them look nice so folk will buy them but there are more important issues to think about here ...

  1. There is always more can be done but are humans willing to do anything?

They will if forced to change.

  2. I believe they're trying, but have a long way to go.  We have to take responsibility too.  I use a Britta pitcher so I'm not constantly recycling plastic water bottles. And I have a few water bottles that I fill from the pitcher for the gym or for just having water handy to drink during the day.  Even though some things are recyclable, we don't always know it's being recycled properly.  I only occasionally put my groceries in plastic or paper bags... neither of which are good for the environment.  The paper emits carcinogens when it's burned, and well, we know the plastic bags are filling landfills.  So I have a lot of the reusable bags I always bring into the market with me.  Many of the the supermarkets plastics bags are starting to have the recycle code on them... and they are 2's, which is always recyclable.  So don't forget to look... and throw them in your recycle bins.

But I don't think it's the grocery chains who should be held responsible for non-recyclable packaging. The manufacturers of those products need to take responsibility.  As consumers, we can only do the best we can.

And yes, when it comes to the environment AND my health, I don't mind paying the price.  I buy organic when I can, and do my best to recycle.

  3. Stores should stop selling styrofoam plates and cups which is bad for the inviroment

  4. Good packaging is important to deliver safe, healthy food free from botulism and samonella.

  5. Try for reuseable before recyclable.

We should be carrying our own yogurt  contaier back to the dairy for a refill.

It would not hurt if the container we carry back and forth were recyclable, but let's have it cost something to induce us to reuse it, even to induce others to save it from your recyclables to sell it for reuse.

  6. are you willing to start paying more when they have to switch to the expensive "eco-friendly" packaging for some supposed made up benefit for the earth?

  7. How much more are YOU willing to  pay it?

    Because that's who will pay..
