Who thinks that the Chinese legally own us, now?

Considering for the fact that we owe them up to 300 billion to a trillion dollars from borrowing money...........Who thinks that if it weren't for the fact that we are their biggest markets that they'd probably start calling in the debts?

  5. if you believe that to be true, your ability to read political scenarios, might be lacking some common sense, at present we have a pretty good relationship with china, and your scenario seems to be based in the logic of a personal loan,

  6. Your kids and grand kids will be paying them part of their hard earned taxes for a few decades.  Not only do they own us they own our posterity. And in the year 2000 we had a national fiscal surplus that was supposed to cover expenses for 10 to 25 years.  By 2002 that surplus was in the hands of the major corporations and richest Bush cronies, and America was billions in debt. Now its Trillions.  All that in 7+years.

  8. The Japanese had the same position in the 70's and everyone said the same thing back then, by now we were supposed to be so owned we would start using Japanese as the language here.  Didn't happen then, won't happen now.

  11. it sounds worse than it really is, i mean us brits only just paid off the war debt to you guys and we were never "owned" .

    the market will keep evolving and shifting, and power will ebb and flow between nations. there are new markets opening up all the time, and america had the talent pool and tenacity to take advantage of these just as the brits do. it's all good in the long run.

  12. What do you think is the value of all property in the US?  Maybe 35 trillion dollars.
