  1. yes!!!!!

    they cheated!!!

  2. Where is your proof that they are lying??

  3. Well, if they were lying, then I think they should be disqualified.  I mean, sure, it would suck a lot fo China because they won gold, but rules are rules.  A Chinese swimmer got disqualified for jumping into the pool too early, and athletes get disqualified all the time for using steroids.  Both involved breaking the rules.  This should not be any different.

  4. it depends... is the lying about there ages going to change the team then yes, but if the team would still be the same then who cares? so yes or no depending...

  5. You can keep asking this type of question forever.  It just shows even more to the world how narrow minded the americans are.

In some events, such as the vault.. it's actually a disadvantage for the Chinese girls because it's a huge equipment for them to get over.  The vault itself is like up to their head.  Compare to the bigger Americans.. which is easier for them to maneuver on it.

No one in the world can say that there is cheating, drugs, judges which are bribed until they are proven guilty.  There is no point to point fingers to who is cheating or not.. I think all countries do it to some degree.  Especially the ones that has better resources and better financial support.  Not necessary they are taking drugs, but more advanced "supplement" for sure.

Why do ppl even bother to watch Olympics if it makes them so angry thinking another country is cheating?  Just turn off the TV.

And what is cheating?  THIS is cheating:

  6. If they are lying ----> disqualified.

  7. IF they were lying, then of course they should get disqualified. That's what the disqualification penalty is for! Yet at the same time, it's really sad. They were the best athletes out there! It highlights the problem of the age limit. If a younger athlete is better, then it's a shame that she can't compete. With the rules the way they are, though, gymnasts,  talk about "winning the birthday Olympics." Because if you're born the right year, you can compete when you're 16. If you're born the wrong year, you're 15 for the Olympics and can't compete, even though you might be the best gymnast in the world. You won't be eligible for the Olympics till you're 19, at which point you'll likely be over the hill.

  8. I agree with Kenichi.  If they were lying (and evidence seems to indicate they were), they should be disqualified.

  9. OK clearly the Chinese where better than the united states they proved that by beating them, but here's the thing why is it we punish those who use performance enhancement drugs but we wont go after people who are blatantly breaking the rules by falsifying ones age. recently a Chinese gymnast who competed in the sydny games i believe came out and said she was 14 when she competed when the rules are one as to be 16. now i understand how the idea of being a sore sport can be a motivator in these claims but everyone watching and competing knew those girls were not of age and the Olympics committee should not let the Chinese team get away with it.

  10. You want proof?  Check out the documents obtained not only by the New York Times but THOUSANDS of other media outlets including The Huffington Post

Yes, they should be stripped of the medals if they cheated and the IOC should look into the matter.

Marion Jones was stripped of hers for using drugs and I'm sure many other people have lost out due to stupid things they've done.  It doesn't matter what country they are from.  If they cheat, they should be disqualified.  The proof is in the hands of the IOC but for some reason, they are stalling and the fact that the article which proves that the girls are underage was removed by China's Government from all internet posting goes to show that they have something to hid.

China was a mistake.  The Olympics should not be held in a country known for so many human rights violations, slaughter and disrespect for the rest of the world.

I hope the IOC makes it right by not only taking the medals away but to also prevent China from competing the 2012 Olympics.

  11. If they lied, then yes.  You can't just break the rules that others have to adhere to and expect everything to be fine.  I don't think the age limit should be 16, though.  It's gymnastics, and a little body is very important.  I think 14 is entirely appropriate.  Any younger than that is probably pushing it.

  12. I think the Americans should be disqualified for being sore losers.

  13. I know this is not the answer you want but I don't think they should. The only gymnast that could have been lying about their age was a 14 year old and 14 is the age when gymnast are at their best.
