  1. It's an opportunity for firms to put up their prices and when you complain, they just say, it's a knock on effect of the oil price!

  2. Gas is only $4.50 a gallon. Does everyone work at Taco Bell for minimum wage?..Why are people spending money for Internet service and cell phones if they can't afford gas? If you can't afford gas park your car and walk.I'm sure the exercise wont hurt you.

  3. There no going back very far, anyway.  Oil will never go back to what it was, and all the green alternatives are going to be even more expensive in the long run. (And it's likely many of them will be shoved down our throat whether or not they are the right thing to do.)

But I'm still fairly confident that we shall weather the storm, humans are pretty good at adapting if we can avoid those pesky global conflicts.

  4. Only drive to go to work - live about 45 minutes from the nearest town, and stay home the rest of the time-not buying any thing but the bare essentials that is needed to live on., eating the lesser expensive foods.-buying store brand stuff instead of name brands-making clothes and shoes last longer before buying new ones-trying to use less air conditioning, but in Louisiana, that is impossible- yesterday it hit 99 degrees with a heat index of 107 degrees due to the high humidity in our air down here. Also, no going to movies, no eating out, whole lot less beer drinking, etc. That's about it.

  5. we are not vacationing as much anymore, and I have cut back on my grocery lists each week. I'm fortunate that my job is less than 5 miles away from my home, so I don't have to drive that far. I feel bad for those who drive 15-20 miles each day to work.

  6. I have to cut back every way possible because I just have limited income and am retired. No cost living and no raises to help me but PAY every way.
